The biggest reason companies don't donate their food is not to get sued. I know airlines donated them, then there were lawsuits about food poisoning, and companies have lost the lawsuit. That is possibly why they don't donate.

Adding to that; in the book of Timothy, Paul is writing to Timothy regarding the issues that his church is facing. One of those issues is that the women of the church are coming to church not to worship or to listen to the teachings of the Bible but to instead make it about them (ie their clothes, jewelry, talking obnoxiously, etc.) Paul is saying that the women are sinning by doing this and that they should be at church for the purpose of listening to the sermon and learning more about Jesus and his teachings, not to go to church and make it about themselves. Paul is not saying that women as a whole cannot teach about Jesus or talk to men; there are multiple instances in the Bible.
