As expected, the most recurring request is for more communities. We have a multistep plan of how we'll be releasing communities, but it would be useful to have an idea of which ones are most wanted.

Yes! It's a propoganda site first. We tried to co-exist, but that didn't work out. Why would we give positive support to a website that treats us badly? Even as an evangelical who has some big doctrinal disputes with the RCC, I was sad that site got shut down. It was the go to to understand the Catholic position on things. Personally, I just want a Christian forum where orthodoxy is the norm, r/Christianity the way it should have been.
I was raised Catholic, and don't think it deserves "HORRIBLE", albeit I was only an occasional visitor.
Many threads finished with someone providing an authoritative answer from canon law or a catechism. There were some neat threads on differences between Catholicism and Orthodoxy too.

It's not fair to claim that Catholics aren't Christian, if that's where you go with this.
They use terms to mean different things than other Christians do. While this is difficult, we shouldn't foster the misunderstandings that arise from it. If we could eliminate such misunderstandings, there'd be no animosity. There'd be a simple difference of opinion. And that would usually be limited to minor things that aren't Salvific.
In the suggested forum, thread titles could include [Catholic] or whatever denom specific discussion may be desired. We should respect their differences and not wade in with strife.
As the community grows we might find enough participation to make more specific groups, but first just getting something specific to Christianity would be helpful, especially with Biden forcing the Church underground as his top priority.

The Holy Ghost in the Trinity is the actual Spirit of God. What is wrong with worshipping Mary is that we do not worship her. We hold her in reverence and as a example of how we need to say "YES" to God and what God has planned for us. We pray to Mary so that she can deliver our prayers to God and to the Lord Jesus for us and speak on our behalf. "...Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death."

The "Perpetual Virginity of Mary" thing is a central tenet of the Catholic faith and frankly, it is completely contrary to scripture.
Many protestants have interpreted biblical prophecy to mean that the Catholic Church is the biblical antichrist, so things get compliated.
But Mary does play a substantial role in sin forgiveness, right? For help? A go-between, so to speak? Mothers have been central to belief systems, as symbols of fertility and forgiveness.

And another fact is when you pray to her to ask Jesus to help you she answers your prayer every single time and whatever u ask she grants but be sure to say “in Jesus name I pray” before ending the prayer to her to show respect for our Lord being our only God and the only one we worship. But I’ve went to other churches learning other religions and we are blessed to be able to pray to Mary or the other saints through Jesus Christ. God has them to help us for this very reason. So put your fanatical religious beliefs aside for once and just use common sense.

Well, I think of it like this: who did Jesus, the man, love best? His mother. His mother nursed him, cleaned him, maybe tended to his cuts (if he didn't just heal them himself). She saw him through childhood and adolescence. Families were important back then. If you have love for someone, it makes you happy if people treat your loved ones well.
How do you think Jesus feels, knowing that all you people degrade and insult his mother? It's just common courtesy to treat his father with respect. They were chosen by God for the most important role.

Personally, I trust nothing above the local parish, potentially diocese level. If you can find a solid parish, with solid people, it is a beautiful place (I'm not Catholic but relatives/friends are). I have major problems with the Vatican, but local parishes often do outstanding work in their churches, schools and communities.

My friend, I have a deep love for people who call themselves Catholic, so the last thing I want to do is alienate them from Bible doctrine. It is heartbreaking for me to know that Catholics are taught that only the priests can understand the Bible and the common man in the pew cannot understand the Bible without the priests help.
As a result, a huge majority of Catholics are largely Bible-illiterate, and so don’t realise the errors of elevating ‘church tradition’ to the authority of Scripture. Not to mention a totally corrupt magisterium that has echoes of the Babylonian Mystery religion (I thought people here were clued in on the true nature of the Pope and the Vatican?). Which leads to situations like this:

I know it is hard to let go of comfortable traditions of men, I grew up in an Anglican environment which is basically RC-lite.
When I trusted Christ alone for my salvation by grace, through faith, and was filled with the Holy Ghost, my life changed forever. I could properly understand Scripture through guidance from the Spirit, and Jesus became the absolute love of my life and He lives His life through me. All I want is for others to join me in the kingdom of God, including all my Roman Catholic brothers and sisters.

If discussion can remain civil like this we should have no problems with one community that covers everybody, and then as numbers grow having more communities as appropriate.
Just so you know my background, I was infant baptized in the Episcopal Church. Got saved as a teenager, obviously not in the Episcopal Church. Have never been RC, and never could be. Seems we have something in common. So I find it strange that I would defend beliefs within Catholicism, which are sometimes in line with Orthodoxy and so often not. Not that I've even been to an Orthodox parish, but their theology rocks.
Tradition is different from tradition. You demonstrate not understanding this topic yet. You might investigate it sometime. A bad explanation will contrast it to Sola Scriptura; I don't find Lutheran theology compelling at all, and Calvinism less so. Simply understanding the role of tradition within the Catholic belief system has benefit. While some of what they consider to be Tradition differs from the Orthodox, the concept seems similar enough.
What really irks me with RC is the gatekeeping assumption that God can't speak to us through Scripture. Orthodox doesn't have that.
Some RCs do read Scripture, the rebels! Lol. Whereas Orthodox KNOW their stuff. And walk the talk. And experience miracles more than anybody else ...

well that's definitely what it meant when they wrote it at the council of nicea in 325 ad. the whole council and the whole creed was about the heresy of arianism (not that kind) and that's why they came up with the creed. so there wasn't anything called the Roman Catholic Church then. it was all just 'the church'

Correct, the current Eastern Orthodox were very much there at the Council of Nicea. The great schism of 1054 finalized a rift that had been widening for centuries.
So any claim by RC that "catholic" in the Creeds is exclusive to RC, or they are "the one true church" or the (only) Church established by Jesus is bogus.
Rome was 1 of 5 original churches. Rome broke away from the other 4. Rome certainly wasn't the first of these formed, Jerusalem was. And we were first called Christians in Antioch, not Rome. Alexandria and Constantinople never were so ungracious as to claim to be more important than the rest.

We have a priest in our parish, Fr. Jared, who really started pushing the line by calling out the riots and violence this past summer.
Had another priest at a family parish in Grand Rapids, MI, who drew a line in the sand as well.

Differences in interpretation will likely be the biggest driver of discussion. We should be able to do it reasonably.
We may need to start with one community that covers all religions, philosophy, Jordan Peterson, etc. Flairs on post titles will help us find those posts we're interested in. Our numbers dwindled for a lot of reasons, it may take a while to build back up.

Homosexuality is exclusive attraction to the same sex. Bisexuality cannot fit into that definition, as it is an attraction to the same and opposite sex. The same reason B cannot be classified as Straight as well. Straight is exclusive attraction to the opposite sex.
As far as the L and G goes, while Homosexuality can be technically applied to both, it is considered too general and too formal. The L and G prefer to use the mutually exclusive informal terms for practical socializing reasons. For example, Gay bars for just Men and Lesbian bars for just Women(although the sex exclusivity of spaces like this is currently under attack by the continued 'transing' of society).
All that is wrong. In everything else we know of, distribution follows a bell curve. There's every reason to at least suspect this might be true in human sexuality as well, and the drastic change within youth at light speed since the legalization of SSM confirms it.
There are multiple axes where a bell curve applies. Nymphomaniacs exist, as do people who are non-sexual. These are the extremes, with most people being somewhere between those extremes. This is well established because stark differences in sex drive has long been a problem for married couples, so we have lots of data.
Not so well established with data is what has happened among youth in the few years since legalization of SSM. There's peer pressure to add some level of homosexuality to the mix, resulting in greater acceptance; the exact opposite of the previous condition. You have 4 year high schools with 90% + of 11 - 12 graders identifying as straight and being identified by others as homophobic, and 9 - 10 graders in the same school 80% identifying as adding some homosexual attraction to the mix and nobody being identified as homophobic.
This drastic change is only possible if attraction follows a bell curve whereby being hardwired hetero or homo is the extreme, with most people falling somewhere between the extremes. A bell curve distribution.
Homosexual attraction having no socially acceptable expression leads to higher birthrates, with few people stifled by it. But the truth is most people are at least capable of some degree of attraction to both sexes. So the LGB is horseshit. It's just a question of engaging in homosexual attraction along with or instead of hetero. There's no reason a female engaging exclusively with homosexual attraction isn't "gay." It's just yet another excuse to be offended.
Identifying bars or any other business is not a valid excuse for the moniker; word on the street spreads quicker than terminology is created.
LGBT is just a movement to get special rights. The fact that it succeeded at the expense of society is evident everywhere.
Libido(Sexual Drive) is wholly different beast from sexuality, which doesn't change. I don't buy into the whole Kinsey sliding scale type model of sexuality variation. It was used presumptively when there was nothing else to go on but has since morphed into a potent tool of homosexual erasure. There is no spectrum. Depending on the person's natural baselines, Libido can and does go up and down separately for either sex over time, and this gives the false impression that there is some sort of variation curve or fluidity in attraction, but it's all illusionary. You're either Hetero, Homo, or Bi. And that aspect of you is crystalized before you are even born. Sexuality is not a mere middle-school age development caused by SSM and sex ed. There will be obvious signs of your sexuality long before that.

What did you have to do to get them in? My kids score in the 98th percentile on standardized testing so I want to make sure that they have the best options open in case they want to take them.
The schools do not care at all about diplomas. Even the Marines did not care for my oldest. They asked for one and I told them I was manufacturing a diploma on my computer and the school was not in any way accredited. The recruiter said they did not care because my son's ASVAB score was so high, plus he had so many CC credits already. My two younger kids took CC classes in high school and went in as transfer students when they either went to college, or we moved. My two boys as white males do not want to go to college, but I think my oldest will eventually. Oldest is a career Marine, little one is a martial artist.
Being good at standardized tests is important, but make sure you have a portfolio of their work as well. The school just wants to know they can do college level work. The diploma thing is a myth.

Martial Arts is his trade, he has been at it since age 11 and is very good. He does traditional Chinese including internal styles like Tai Chi and Chi Gung. He and his wife will be opening their own studio soon. It requires life long training.

I kept a list of everything they read, every museum we visited, performance we saw, visiting courtrooms, etc... Keeping track shows normies that we are not isolated. Going to school outside the country can save big money and is a good thing to consider. I would not recommend the "top schools" regardless. Work ethic and effort are for more important. A study was done of students accepted to Yale who did not attend and went to state schools. They outperformed their peers who attended Yale. My husband went to podunk schools and at one point had people working under him who were all from big name schools. Being at the top of your class can have huge benefits. Had he gone to MIT, for example, he would have been normal, instead he was a superstar at each school. My uncle went to Yale and my dad UVM, overall my dad did better and got into UC Berkeley for grad school. My preference is for AG schools because the students tend to be very grounded. I went to Oregon State and have returned as an ECampus student. I am studying Spanish this time and diversity of viewpoints is fully allowed. When I got my STEM degree in the 80's the Spanish Dept was a cesspool of lefties. The administration there is fully cucked, but I have had no problems in my schoolwork. All polite opinions are welcomed.

I too am confused. But to address your other comment, if you are good with CAD, you can make your own design for anything and your computer doesn't know what it is. It is also not illegal as long as you don't sell it. There was even a case with a guy offering CNC service where you could make your own lower on his machine and he would finish the build after. It pretty much amounted to hitting go on a machine. But since they made the lower, there was no need for a background check.
They do not. Most printers are not even connected to the internet. You put your CAD files in the slicer that generates the files the printer can read an put those on an SD card or flash drive. It's also legal in pretty much every state.

Gaming is pretty broad, arguably too broad. There are at least a couple sub-categories that would be attractive to many: c/tabletop and c/rpg to cover boardgaming and RPGs, the latter of which really needs a non-woke place for its players to congregate and find others to engage.
The communities should remain broad until they actually have the userbase and traffic to justify splitting them IMO.
I don't have a problem with board games, RPG and video games all being discussed in the same place when it's moving about one post an hour right now.
