They are so stupid. They think the raid might be justified! But there are no secrets to keep classified by a President. The role of the lower level people is to kept secrets and respect classification (like Hillary) until the President gives the direction to the country. A President is the commander in chief and doesn’t have to keep secrets. If Trump decides to bring one of his love letter to Kim Jung Un in a box, it is not classified. Nothing is a classified document to him. The raid at mar a lago cannot be justified in any shape or form. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/eric-trump-gives-clearest-indication-yet-possible-trump-2024-run-following-fbi-raid

Trump declassified the docs before leaving. A WH staffer didn’t change the markings, but they were still declassified.

This is from May & has been going on since Feb. nothing new

DrCowboyPresident 16 points ago +17 / -1

In terms of letter of the law, you're right.

But in terms of de facto power, they stripped Trump on Jan 6 and didn't listen to a thing he wanted after, and that's their story and they're sticking to it.

snoopy3210 [S] 18 points ago +18 / -0

Doesn’t work. President Trump had that declass power until January 20th. The law is the law and the unelected bureaucrats cannot « strip » any power from the President. Look below for my comment on impeachment. This power doesn’t belong to this crazed General Mark Milley or the chief legal counsel Pat Cippolne. They failed to follow the Constitution and learn about the objection process in dubious elections. The breach of the capitol was under investigation and they decided to get influenced by rumors that Trump launched it. That was not for them to decide and to take over the Presidency over rumors. And of course the trial has shown that Trump wasn’t aware that people would go inside and never asked or wanted that.

Dane4Trump 7 points ago +7 / -0

He had the de jure power, but if all agencies ignore him then it is obvious that he didn't have de facto power.

It doesn't matter what the book says if the ones who hold de facto power doesn't care. If it not a matter of law or principles to the left, they don't care about being hypocrites because it is a power game to them.

And I would go even further than DrCowboyPresident, they became open about Trump not having de facto power on January 6th but he clearly didn't have it for much longer.

DrCowboyPresident 1 point ago +1 / -0

Absolutely right. It was just made fully overt then.

GodIsPerfect 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thought it all sounded familiar. Thanks pede

Wyopepe 32 points ago +32 / -0

The President is the ultimate authority when it comes to this…

That’s not an exaggeration. He can literally declassify whatever he wants. Assuming deep state gatekeepers don’t get in way and criminally refuse to do so.

invalid_data 14 points ago +14 / -0

Yep, anybody who has dealt with classified material knows that the President has the supreme classification authority. He can decide what is and isn't classified. He can delegate that authority which is what occurs 99% of the time, but ultimately he has all the say.

magaspif 7 points ago +7 / -0

Does he have to do something specifically - I'm guessing they are going to try to get him on some bullshit technicality.

Wyopepe 6 points ago +6 / -0

It’s a supreme power, unquestioned.

There are some safeguards in relation to nuclear secrets, but I think that’s it.

TrumpsBigBalls 0 points ago +1 / -1

He did have supreme power, though technically he DID need to officially declassify them.

Wyopepe 1 point ago +1 / -0

Not really.

He can speak of the issue and reveal whatever.

Documents generally follow a process, but if he was to hand you a top secret document that he believed served the country in doing so, it’s then public and declassified.

Follow this answer, President is essentially a class/declass God:

The_kool_mom 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm not even sure they care about "getting him". Their main goal is to turn his base and especially recent converts to MAGA away from him. Their main weapon is the media. They will assault him day and night with false claims that normies won't understand or research, and their viewership will go up 400% since they're talking about Trump. Win win for them. Why wouldn't they do this?

MrJethro 2 points ago +2 / -0

they will do that but it will have the opposite effect that they're hoping for. only the most TDS affected will buy it.

TrumpsBigBalls 0 points ago +2 / -2

Yes...he had to declassify them and there is a process involved in doing that. He may have ordered them declassified but the question now is, did those underflings complete that process?

ColbyP 1 point ago +1 / -0

Doesn't matter. If he can show that he gave the order, then underlings failing to carry it out is on them, not him.

snoopy3210 [S] 17 points ago +17 / -0

Also the secret service after Jan 6 can put classified docs in those boxes and make it look like the President did it. That doesn’t mean the President selected all those docs in those boxes. We know they are involved in January 6 more than the President.

VIad_The_Impaler 12 points ago +13 / -1

ENEMIES OF THE STATE stole the election and took office.

Every classified document has now been read and shared among enemies of the USA.

untumulted 10 points ago +11 / -1

They don't believe it, they just sell it to us.

snoopy3210 [S] 5 points ago +7 / -2

No they believe it. The media people don’t know the law. They listen to a deepstate that violates the Constitution days in days out.

PapaPepe 8 points ago +8 / -0

Look at Juan Williams on a night when something new comes out and the next day after he's read the emails telling him what to think

CommieCucker 10 points ago +10 / -0

Juan Williams is a fucking retard. 80 IQ at best.

untumulted -2 points ago +2 / -4

Nope, they are doing what CNN did about Wikileaks "it's illegal for you guys to read them, but it's different for us".

In the Wikileaks case, they are trying to keep people from finding out about illegal activity with Clinton, in this case they are trying to promote illegal activity with Trump.

But it is cute you believe that Fox's hundreds of lawyers don't know the law.

snoopy3210 [S] 4 points ago +5 / -1

They don’t. They are run by British thugs where the PM is not a commander in chief. They don’t even understand the 2A and claim that is for hunting.

ColbyP 0 points ago +1 / -1

They quite literally don't. They break the law all the time and just don't care because they know their incestuous relationship with the feds keeps them safe.

Nice downvote, faggot

Billybobcuccio 7 points ago +7 / -0

I trust President Trump with every secret there is. He’s not owned by China and Russia. A shit bad who has access to all the secrets and has taken money from Russia and China would warrant 100 unannounced raids to make sure he’s not doing what we know he is. Fuck Joe Biden and fuck the Bolsheviks running out justice department and military.

I was looking for what pedes thought about this.

It seems that if Trump really did take documents, it would break this law? So then what? Is he in the wrong legally?

deleted 1 point ago +2 / -1
ColbyP 1 point ago +1 / -0

Eric Trump is saying the safe was empty, so he's not in violation of anything unless those faggots are planning to plant evidence.

deleted 1 point ago +1 / -0
dahdahdah_dahditdah 1 point ago +1 / -0

In other words, if he did a small fraction of what Hillary Clinton did then he violated the law.

Deleting materials under subpoena and improperly copying and keeping special access program level stuff about drone strikes?

Get out of here with your equivocating between Hillary and the Trump admin.

Multiple losers have LOST classified documents on public fucking transport or in cabs and NOTHING happened to em.

Azarak 2 points ago +2 / -0

The FBI was at MAL just a few weeks ago regarding storage of the 'classified' documents. They put their own padlock on to secure it. Fast forward to the raid...they forgot the key to their own padlock and had to pry the lock off. This was according to Guiliani. Corrupt Key Stone Cops.

Stoso -26 points ago +3 / -29

That’s not how that works.

snoopy3210 [S] 25 points ago +25 / -0

Yes it is. The President declassifies on the fly. His orders of declassification in January should have been followed but the agencies violated the law in not doing it. It was a subversion of authority to refuse because that is his ultimate power. That was proven when Trump talked to the Russians about a new liquid bomb plan (that can be used by terrorists) that was found in a raid I believe in Syria. Trump wanted to warn the Russians about a new potential threat but by doing so informed them of a classified intel operation and raid. The President can give secrets unwittingly or not and it was declared that the President declassifies on the spot.
Also consider this: if a President puts the country in danger by revealing all secrets to an enemy during war for example, the elected representatives can impeach the President for misdemeanour. But there’s no authority above the President to decide what secret must be kept. The President was elected, the federal agencies and the pentagon aren’t.

SPEZ_CUPS_CCP_BALLS 18 points ago +18 / -0

Yes it is, handshake

CommieCucker 9 points ago +9 / -0

It's not a 'handshake,' it's a faggot shill interloper

Alphahorizon 10 points ago +10 / -0

Very few in the USA have what's known as " Declassification Authority." The President of the United States is ONE of maybe 30-40 people. Many CAN classify documents. Anyone that holds the appropriate clearance equal to the level they are classifying the documents at. That is Classification Authority which is vastly different to "Declassification Authority which is VERY RARE.

But again, the President DOES HAVE THAT AUTHORITY.
