Pssssst, Trump you used to be a dem too. Wtf is going on with him lately?

486
DonttrustChina 486 points ago +507 / -21

My personal assessment? He's pissed. Mostly at himself for letting his moment for Truth Social slip away. And he's letting it out on Elon, because Elon's actions, though well intentioned, caused Trump's frustrations.

They're two of the biggest alpha dogs in the world. Of course there's gonna be some barking. I can like them both without them having to like each other.

The soy intake, the single mother/femme teacher indoctrination, reliance on govt etc.

Do you know its possible to praise someone for a good thing even when at some point in their life theyve done a bad thing? Elon never really bought twitter. The deal fell through now twitter’s stock is free falling again and they are exposed for what they really are. If anything this helps truth social. When Elon mentioned truth social on his account it only helped truth by giving them more publicity. Apart of me thinks this is all orchestrated between trump and Elon. It’s quite coincidental this happens right before the truth launch. The real question is does Elon really want twitter or does he want to destroy them or he’s just waiting for the best deal. It’s quite obvious that Elon had been a democrat not surprised one bit. He possibly voted for trump in 2020 because trump allocating more money for space exploration meaning more spaceX contracts. Who knows? All I know twitter is fucked and I wouldn’t touch it till after the lawsuits.

23
Paul_Revere 23 points ago +26 / -3

"A part of me thinks this is all orchestrated between trump and Elon."

Bingo!

4
BostonVoter 4 points ago +4 / -0

Elon and Trump met together days before Elon started to buy shares of Twitter. Literally asked permission

16
caKAG 16 points ago +16 / -0

And now Elon can use the Bots to back out and buy Twitter cheaper, which means a smaller payout for Dorsey and Prag.

12
Huntercole 12 points ago +12 / -0

I don’t understand why Dorsey wants to own so much stock? He knew it was overvalued from the beginning. Unlike the other board members who owned virtually no stock and knew it was just a propaganda machine. Dorsey believed in twitter but he let that shit go on so fuck him.

6
80960KA 6 points ago +6 / -0

I mean it's kinda his product, don't discount emotional attachment.

2
KrakenWakin4JoeBacon 2 points ago +2 / -0

Why did Dorsey leave Twitter anyway? I forget

6
ZyramRo 6 points ago +6 / -0

I can tell you Elon probably misses Trump because he had the agencies working, and his space port in boca Chica has now been delayed by way more than 6 months past when the environmental review was supposed to be complete

5
ItsOkayToBeWight 5 points ago +5 / -0

What is crazy is how valuable Twitter is. It's value is way bigger than the $44B bid, given it's clear ability to influence elections and more. Twitter just has a shit means of monetizing it and bots is part of artificially boosting their monetization strategy.

2
VyseLegendaire 2 points ago +2 / -0

This - my feeling is that this is one elaborate operation which will result in Twitters ultimate destruction, inevitably powering up Truth / Gettr. Its the Trump Curse operating through Karma/Kekma.

26
ineX0r2 26 points ago +35 / -9

Good take. Trump's platform was never going to work. A social media platform built specifically to cater to a political group is an automatic failure, because it is designed to be an echo chamber. Twitter and Facebook were initially designed to be apolitical platforms where people (only college students at first for Facebook) could talk or post about whatever. Those brands can be salvaged and repurposed to their original state, given good ownership/management.

18
Cyer6 18 points ago +18 / -0

I'm on Truth and it is an eco chamber. Very boring place. PDW is also an echo chamber but it's supposed to be. We pass on up-to-date news, shitpost and have a comfortable place of like minded people to engage. That's why it works but a big social media platform like TS cannot be an echo chamber if it's going to work.

6
VyseLegendaire 6 points ago +6 / -0

Okay, but telling the truth is an echo chamber in a free world. TD was dominating Reddit for years until they had to suppress it to push 'the narrative'. We came here and made PDW because TD was removed off of one of those 'open and free' platforms. You NEED to make a platform intended to give space for those people to have a fair platform due to fascism present in all of the others. Just saying.

3
80960KA 3 points ago +3 / -0

That doesn't make the content compelling. One of the things about twitter is it has a lot of content other than political shitposting battles. You can curate some great feeds if you want, and that's just not possible on any of these "we exist because of political censorship" platforms because the only people on those platforms are political people almost exclusively. You get like a smaller version of gun twitter at best when it comes to hobby/interest shit.

1
VyseLegendaire 1 point ago +1 / -0

Personally I find almost none of the non-political content on Twitter compeling, and nearly all of it could be moved to other platforms quite easily for streaming, announcements etc. Its basically a press release posting platform outside of the politics.

0
80960KA 0 points ago +1 / -1

Cool story

1
BostonVoter 1 point ago +1 / -0

Twitter is a BRAND. The End. The whole world is going in direction of Live Streaming.... meanwhile you have a well oiled machine called Twitter.. with the wrong ship captains currently. It is branded into the DNA of everyone's brain

2
80960KA 2 points ago +2 / -0

Funny thing is twitter is a fairly niche platform, last I looked less than 10% of Americans even have an account, and only something like 3% of those ever post.

It has hugely outsized influence for what it is, because what userbase it does have slants really hard to celebrities and public figures. It's like a giant gossip column.

1
Cyer6 1 point ago +1 / -0

Agreed and TS is not banning or bouncing lefties off the site. I've seen them post there but right now the place is just like here or Gab. You're not reaching any normies there (yet). Maybe they'll come eventually and then it has a chance.

2
KekistaniMemeLord 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's up the user's to take the platform away from politics and appeal to other areas, maybe people using it need to make an active effort to not make it all about politics?

2
2MoreWeeksTeeheehee 2 points ago +3 / -1

How is it really catering to anyone though? It simply offers relaxed rules on posting. It’s not like it does the reverse and sensors leftists. Leftists simply don’t want to venture out of there safe space

I stated previously Elons actions were specifically to torpedo Truth Social

14
DonttrustChina 14 points ago +14 / -0

And how do you rationalize that when Trump wasn't even using the platform when Elon started this? Like the fucking Babylon Bee was cracking jokes about Elon offering to buy it for twelve bucks and we were all laughing because it was true. Elon had no need to kill what was already dead of neglect. If anything, he revived it by reviving Trump's interest in actually doing it.

0

It's going to get worse on Tuesday. Trump's pissboy, David Perdue is down 30+ points to Kemp. Trump's other boy, Herschel Walker is a complete moron.

There is a very serious chance that Kemp will lose to Abrams because Trump has trashed him with MAGA voters. A lot of those folks will stay with Trump and not vote Kemp. Walker is increasingly going to be under the microscope. And when that happens, more and more people are going to realize just how stupid he is. Moreover, there will be a much deeper dive on the credible domestic abuse issues, his suicidal behavior and multiple personality disorder. Trump thinks the secret sauce is outsiders with celebrity name recognition like him. But Dr. Oz is a weak cuck and Fetterman is going to mop the floor with him. Walker is about 2 IQ points above retarded and has mental health, behavioral and past shady business issues. God help him if he ever has to debate or speak extemporaneously.

20
BoughtByBloomberg2 20 points ago +21 / -1

Kemp is a piece of shit. Muh credible accusations.

0
SwitchbladeDrone 0 points ago +5 / -5

So does that mean you'll be voting for Abrams? Or not voting at all?

-1
SwitchbladeDrone -1 points ago +4 / -5

If you think Walker isn't damaged as a candidate, then you're retarded as he is. Agree about Kemp. Though Perdue is another soft, rich cuck who really doesn't like campaigning or talking with his constituents.

9
2MoreWeeksTeeheehee 9 points ago +11 / -2

And? Kemp is responsible for the rigging of the 2020 election in Georgia. He is personally responsible and had an active hand in it. Fuck him.

Right, which is a bit out of touch with where he needs to be. Twitter getting this light exposed on it is the best thing that could happen, even if the details aren’t set yet. Attacking Elon in this moment was incorrect.

7
Captain-D 7 points ago +7 / -0

There is a lot going on with Elon and accusations of sex parties with Amber Heard and an allegation of an underaged minor. He anonymously paid for several portions of what was supposed to be her own donation commitment to the ACLU and LA Children's hospital and now has paid for many of the legal services for her and her friends/witnesses in this trial with Johnny Depp and the account / citizen journalist that broke the story has now had her account removed by Instagram. It's been interesting for me to watch that go on while watching his actions over here, like two different worlds of Elon.

1
anon2309011 1 point ago +2 / -1

Did you see the part where Amber was holding his semen hostage for her future surrogacy and she now has a baby with no father?

2
Captain-D 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yes, it was embryos they created together and now she does indeed have a fatherless child. A lot about his life has come out as a result of this trial. She is accused of blackmailing him, which I fully believed as someone who has been watching the trial day in and day out as well as following the person (House in Habit) investigating all of the pieces, but I also agree that Elon could be blackmailed because he participated in activities he shouldn't have. I don't know about this airline stuff --- but I do know that if they wanted to actually go after him, there is a treasure trove related to Amber Heard, but it's problematic for their cherished narratives.

1
anon2309011 1 point ago +2 / -1

Yep, when and if she loses this case, she's going to be squealing about Elon.

He should have come out against her for his own black eyes when dating her.

5
ShampocalypseWOW 5 points ago +6 / -1

He does seem to imply that, but I don't see how it's true. Supporting is not the same as voting. Elon said he only voted like a retard, not that he only supported like a retard.

Here_we_go 29 points ago +30 / -1

38

11
Here_we_go 11 points ago +12 / -1

5
MasksAreChildAbuse 5 points ago +10 / -5

13% where the hell did you get that number?

Edit: to the downvoters the reason why the distinction between the real number 9.2% and 13% (random but, ok 👌) matters is because of the laws surrounding it. There is a big difference owning more than 5% vs more than 10% and it’s exactly why Elon bought just under 10%

https://www.sec.gov/education/smallbusiness/goingpublic/officersanddirectors

Now the person edited it acting like they never said 13 lol

3
MaverickRobot 3 points ago +4 / -1

From the reports of the total amount of voting stock Elon purchased ahead of the offer for total buyout

9
MasksAreChildAbuse 9 points ago +10 / -1

Literally not a single source said it was 13%, not one single source. I’ll PayPal you or Venmo you or whatever you $25 right now if you find 1 source that says “13%”

It was 9.2%

I could see rounding up to 10 percent. But just pulling 13% out of your ass is weird af.

2
Morokei 2 points ago +2 / -0

It doesn’t make the purchase of Twitter illegal but is a potential violation of noticing requirements. Yr supposed to send a notice immediately when you own more than 5% and Musk didn’t. But purchase of the company itself can still be legal.

Don’t see what there is to gain by Trump exaggerating the nature of the illegality.

Not a wise tweet by Trump.

11
SlumberBalu 11 points ago +12 / -1

We've seen Don get pissed at his own people any time they upstage him or get more applause etc. Used to happen w Sarah H. at rallies and he would make snide comments after taking the podium.

Remember Trump's response to mass shootings in 2019? Red Flag Laws. He backed off on it because it was political suicide, but he endorsed the Red Flag supporter Oz, meaning he didn't see that as a deal breaker. Trump still doesn't see eye-to-eye with us on the Second Amendment.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/red-flag-laws-second-amendment-advocates-warn-trump-about-support-for-gun-reform-measure/

3
Cyer6 3 points ago +5 / -2

I've spent a little time on some 2A forums and while some are big Trump supporters, many are not. His behavior after the Parkland shooting did it for them. In his 4 years, he never did anything that was pro 2A except saying that he supports it. If he were serious about the 2A, he would've focused on the ATF and the leadership there.

2
RPD2 2 points ago +2 / -0

His behavior after the Parkland shooting did it for them.

How did Trump react?

2
Cyer6 2 points ago +3 / -1

He went forward with the ATF's bump stock ban, also started moving toward the idea of more restrictive Red Flag laws saying things to the effect of "take their guns first and worry about the rest later." Then after the bump stocks were banned, he dropped gun control measures like a hot rock because he was seeing the base's reaction after all through his campaign he talked about being a pro 2A guy.

1
Jack_HinsonTN 1 point ago +5 / -4

It's becoming increasingly clear he doesn't take 2A seriously. For me, that's a major issue. I am never relinquishing my guns. Should Biden's WHO sturmtruppen show up demanding them, they'll be shot. And thanks to J6, I know that you can't expect due process or fair trial, so there will be no surrender. They start shit deserving of a lethal response, I know the only way out is through. I can only hope others will be along with me should that time come.

Trump's bread and butter was always real estate. You're not going to become the richest man in the world with real estate, you need to hit a up and coming market and be the leader. Trump never got into anything of that nature, so of course Musk is going to be more successful by that metric. Although if you want to look at it from a different perspective, Trump's celebrity was much higher than Musk could ever achieve up until he decided to run for president.

18
War_Hamster 18 points ago +20 / -2

Trump also never relied on government checks to build his fortune.

7
PROCIsAsshoe 7 points ago +7 / -0

Elon has done some incredible things that must be lauded but I have to say that "taxillionaire" moniker isn't far from the truth. Can't fault him from utilizing opportunities provided by the government but it's disingenuous to act as though he's some ultra egalitarian titan of industry. TSLA's valuation is one of the sickest jokes ever crafted because Elon knows how to play a public audience like a fiddle and hypnotize them. Although, I've digressed really from what he should be known for: SpaceX.

6
War_Hamster 6 points ago +6 / -0

This is one of the few balanced comments regarding Elon I've read around here lately.

SpaceX is a cool concept and the execution has been admirable so far. I'm surprised his Boring Company hasn't received more scrutiny. There's a lot of nefarious uses for that technology.

3
TrudopesEyebrow 3 points ago +3 / -0

100%. Also, anyone can read his NeuroLinks animal testing and research, it’s some stomach churning, dark scary shit.

“Neurolinks is a sewing machine-like ultrathin threads implanted into the brain, that can download brain data wirelessly.”

Imagine how profitable brain data is. Who will make this data proprietary? Who will be the first to monetize brain data?

He also has a history of supporting the Green new deal and his last two girlfriends were both insane Socialists.

He is definitely playin both sides.

2
War_Hamster 2 points ago +2 / -0

Exactly right about NeuroLink. It's dystopian ScyFy nightmare stuff, and plenty can go wrong.

I think he may have gone off the Leftist reservation and is acting according to his own worldview. That doesn't make him either good or bad, but it does make him pretty dangerous if he goes the wrong direction.

4
War_Hamster 4 points ago +4 / -0

As one who left a boatload of money on the table when I walked away from Wall Street because I refuse to accept dirty money, I can hate both.

But I don't hate Elon so much as I am convinced that his vision for the future has very little in common with my own Constitutional hopes.

Individual Liberty vs "You will be assimilated"

2
WooseTheMoose 2 points ago +2 / -0

Nah, I don't so. When you can take those tax dollars and turn it around on those in power by buying something like Twitter then how could that possibly be bad?

1
War_Hamster 1 point ago +1 / -0

I can think a lot of ways his Twitter endeavors turns out bad. I can think of ways it turns out good, as well.

But power corrupts, and he doesn't really have a track record as a defender of liberties, so I'm not jumping on the Musk Train anytime soon.

Elon is a liar when it comes to "The planet is doomed! Global Warming will KiLL uS AlL!"

He is promoting it to promote his solar/cars to be able to afford the mars installation.

He is doing it because its a means to an end, his goal is multi planet species and he is willing to lie to get us there, not a bad motive but honesty is better.

5
proDeoEtPatria 5 points ago +5 / -0

Agreed. Elon is deceiving the MAGA crowd bigly.
Elon wants the Green New Deal, he cried a hissy fit when Trump pulled out of the climate accord.

He’s been talking a big game, but hasn’t done shit to help MAGA. Mike Lindell was banned for tweeting the truth. 2000 mules is still banned from Twitter.

Elon is all talk NO ACTION. And Trump sees the double play

3
TrudopesEyebrow 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yup.

Elon is definitely playing both sides. Anyone who reads his NeuroLinks lab research and NeuroLinks animal testing can see Elon’s plans for the future are darker than Bill Gates.

He is creating technology to download brain data. Imagine being the first billionaire who will monetize brain data.

Elon always supported the Green New Deal. He sells solar panels. And electric cars. He is playing both sides, and Trump sees it.

Even if I were on the platform (I'm not), I'd be ashamed to have anything I say be called a "Truth".

Because it's not! It's merely a statement or comment. Biased and obscured by own subjective predilections and life experiences, same as everyone else.

Which makes the platform that much more of an embarrassment. There are so many here who readily and rightly call out things like "The Patriot Act" as being a intentional play on words... Meanwhile GEOTUS puts out something like "Truth Social", together with its "truths" and "re-truths"...

No. Just, no.

2
Husky 2 points ago +2 / -0

Should have called it Trumpet from the start. It was so obvious.

You know what trumpets do? They toot.

One syllable. It's cute, unimposing. Similar enough to tweet without violating any trademarks, shorter too. Most common English phrase (thus, mental imagery) is about being braggadocios, exactly like the creator (Trump)... tooting his own horn.

"Truth" was a failure of marketing.

Edit. And you know what you do when you reply to someone on trumpet!? You retoot. A cutesy word that sounds like retort, a response in a debate. I'm mad about this.

2
sackofwisdom 2 points ago +3 / -1

Definitely my biggest complaint with this website.

I run my own small business, I work 80 hours a week, I still get told "muh bootstraps", not sure I can physically do any more.

My brother has prudently invested and saved since he was 18 and still can't buy a house now.

Purchasing power today is about 1/2 of our parents and 1/4 of our grandparents and they don't want to acknowledge it at all. "Just do what I did" Yeah... when you did it the average wage was 30k and the average house cost 50k.

It's like if our grandparents could buy 4 gallons of ice cream for every hour they worked, parents could buy 2, and we're lucky to buy 1.

The world has changed. Running your own business is no longer profitable if you don't have something everyone wants. Not all investments bare fruit.

I'm looking at my third house (owned concurrently) in the next 5 years because I invested in a STEM degree and hopped jobs every year. I always hopped for a pay raise. I went from literal poverty to 90th percentile by income in the US in about 8 years. It's doable. It's lunacy to do the same thing over and over expecting fortune to change wildly in your favor.

2
DeathBattleFan123 2 points ago +5 / -3

I'm in my mid 30s. Same generation as you.

Im not going to sit here and get into a poor-off with you, other than to say my family was never rich. We were a gentleman's "middle class", in grading terminology.

I made different choices than you I guess, because I got a job in my early 20s that paid the national average, and bought a house immediately. Ive negotiated for raises (or changed jobs) as needed, and now I make more than 3x what I originally did.

My savings are flush. Aside from my current mortgage I hold no debt. At this trajectory I'll be able to retire in my 50s.

How did I do that if you are right?

14
AOCDickPics 14 points ago +14 / -0

Even if you are successful, saying "just do what I did" is a poor mentality, you're the exception, not the rule. The above person saying they make 100k+ a year... that means they're in the top 3-5%. Not everyone can be in the top 3-5% by design. The bottom 50-60% can't afford rent or mortgage.

I'm in my mid 30s and I was lucky enough to just buy a house, but pretty much anyone trying to get in now, after I did are eternally fucked.

More people are living paycheck to paycheck than ever, I think it's up to 65% now. Wages aren't keeping up with inflation, not everyone has the opportunity or the means to get a high-paying job. Not enough exist.

8
Cantshadowbanthemall 8 points ago +8 / -0

The national median average sale price of a single family home relative to median household income is ~30% higher than it reached in 2007-2008. American dream of home ownership at all-time heights for inaccessibility.

4
DeathBattleFan123 4 points ago +4 / -0

There are 2 points there:

  1. you're the exception not the rule

  2. people getting in now are fucked

To point 1, no, I was not an exception. I entered the job market during the shit tastic Obama years and was making ~ $10k below the national average. And with that, I bought a house. Hardly exceptional.

To point two... yes things suck bad right now. BUT, if you're in your 30s right now, then you were at least in your late 20s during the Trump years when inflation was near zero, earnings were way up, employers were desperate to hire, and houses weren't 4x inflated. An average person at that time should have been able to buy a house, at a <3% 30 year fixed rate.

Current circumstances aside, things aren't nearly as hopeless as you're suggesting.

1
Husky 1 point ago +1 / -0

Just crossed into my thirties here. I sure as hell hope things aren't "over for me" like he said. Personally, I quit my shitty job and used the Trump years and savings to get my engineering degree because the only jobs in my area were skilless barely over minimum wage jobs. I'm almost done, I got a little student debt but, hey, my car is paid off. It's not like we all die at 60 or something, there's still time to build up a retirement fund and buy a house, right?

1

1
HorribleDeplorable 1 point ago +2 / -1

Some people have the mentality that allows them to grow both personally and financially, and others make excuses. It has been this way since the beginning of time.

What you are saying is absolutely correct. As a small business owner I had to think long and hard about giving it up because the job market was so good. Still is really. Plenty of employers that need good hard working people and are willing to pay for it.

Not to mention trades - you can get a 1 or two year education in something like welding and be on your way to 6 figures pretty quickly.

The guy that drywalled my office made more per year than I do.

1
MustBeTrump 1 point ago +1 / -0

You haven't provided a significant amount of detail into costs or spending or lifestyle, but I've experienced something quite similar to the guy you're replying to when commenting on here.

There was a post about someone's monthly grocery bills costing about $1000. That to me is absolute insanity. I spoke about how I can quite comfortable live on $100 for groceries a month, add maybe $30-50 extra to that for any addition person in the home. A lot of people on here called me a bullshitter, thought I was a troll, thought I lived some completely mundane life where I only eat the cheapest shit and live off potatoes or something stupid.

No, I just buy in bulk, only buy what I'm going to eat and very rarely have any waste, don't spend 100's on alcohol or snacks (barely buy any snacks or junk food), and I actually don't carefully manage my budget and think about every cent that I spend.

Multiple people angrily replied to me about how they spend $200-$400 a week.

I can't comprehend that at all.

Is it possible you're similar to me with your spending? How did you afford the deposit for a mortgage? How much rent were you paying when you were saving for your mortgage?

Try to help people understand your situation rather than just claiming how everything just went right for you.

1
DeathBattleFan123 1 point ago +1 / -0

Is it possible you're similar to me with your spending?

I was 24 I think when I bought my first house. At that time I was single. My car was long since paid off and I had no credit cards. My student loans were about $350/mo. I buy alcohol, so my groceries were higher than yours, but still low, around $400/mo. I rarely ate out. Im a gamer, so my entertainment was dirt cheap -- a single $50 game would last me months. Before I bought my house, my rent was about $1000/mo. Adding on other expenses, ...my lifestyle cost me around $2500/mo total, which was around $30k annually.

How did you afford the deposit for a mortgage?

I've always been a saver. From my early teen years up till I left grad school, I saved a couple bucks each week. By the time I was ready to buy a house, I had >$12k saved up, which was plenty.

For reference: if you save $35 per week, starting at age 18 until you are 25, you'll have what I had. Not hard... and it's enough for a 5% down payment on a $250k starter home.

How much rent were you paying when you were saving for your mortgage?

As I said, around $1000/mo. My mortgage was about $1100/mo, which was a negligible increase.

1
MustBeTrump 1 point ago +1 / -0

Thank you for the legitimate response. All sounds completely reasonable and doable and I'm sure you would agree you could have been spending a lot less if you really needed or wanted to.

We're an obese country for a reason and it's because people spend double what we do on groceries and junk food and alcohol and then complain that they have no money, or they buy ridiculous cars and flashy materialistic goods.

There's a lot of people that have bought their first house at your age who had parents that gave them the money for a deposit and let them live rent free, those are the kind of people that need a slap when they talk about how they worked hard for their first house. But you seem genuine.

Why is it so convincing musk is "going to buy Twitter"?

It's obvious he's destroying it. He's likely to get paid from this, too. Meantime, he brought the whore out from the shadows and into the street light. Bright as day, everyone is seeing the truth.

Project Veritas coming in and doing a bigger morale gutting than anything musk could do will trigger a frenzy of suicides, depression and chaos. Think about everyone of the 7,000+ employees who have talked about the company to anyone in the last couple months. Let alone who went on dates. All of them are second guessing everything they said.

The bots are being counted. Lawsuits are probably in the works for the dereliction of duty the company allowed by policy regarding wasting share holder capital.

Musk isn't buying. He's destroying. Big red sheet of cash drawing the bull in to be gutted.

8
War_Hamster 8 points ago +9 / -1

I'd have thought we'd have learned about white-knighting by now, but it seems half of this site is hitting refresh on Twatter every 2 minutes looking for the next "based" Tweet by King Elon.

Fun Fact #1: Tesla's share of global auto sales is ~3%.

Fun Fact #2: Tesla's market cap is greater (by far) than the next 10 automakers combined.

What could possibly go wrong? It's not like Elon is pi$$ing off his most loyal customer base or anything....

6
IncredibleMrE1 6 points ago +7 / -1

Our side will NEVER learn the white-knighting lesson. They're too demoralized and desperate for a billionaire hero to worship.

The mass EV conversion will keep him afloat. His MAGA-In-Name-Only simps will gladly switch to Tesla because Elon is SOOOOOO based. They'll also be the first to sign up for the Neuralink implants.

2
The_Nowhere_Man 2 points ago +2 / -0

I agree with you 200%. We all look for a white knight. Be it in GEOTUS or whoever else. We hope to find a powerful figure who isn't a snake in human skin.

6
ObamasLooseButthole 6 points ago +6 / -0

For as smart as you have proven you are this is a pretty shit take honestly. I don't completely trust Elon either but he is fighting on our side at the moment and Trump is reeeeing hard about it. Those are the two facts of this situation.

2
War_Hamster 2 points ago +3 / -1

I appreciate the kind words and the criticism.

Let me clarify; even though Elon has appeared to all of the sudden be doing things we like, I don't trust him due to his past actions/words, and the vision he's shared for the future is not one I'd like.

The key to my point is that I'm not drawing conclusions, but rather withholding judgment and asking reasonable questions. Time will tell if he's turned over a new leaf.

The transhumanist comment reflects my distaste for merging humans with computers. I can just see so many ways this turns out wrong.

2
ObamasLooseButthole 2 points ago +2 / -0

I agree with all of that. My disagreement was with the whether it's a good fight or not remains to be seen. Currently the fight he is fighting is for free speech and it's hard to see a downside from him. He's shit in a lot of other ways though, I completely agree.

2
War_Hamster 2 points ago +2 / -0

If we take him at his word that he's for free speech, and his actions sure seem to back that up, I'm all for what he's doing at Twitter. I've always thought the deal was unlikely to go through, at least at $54.20, but the process itself has kicked over a hornets nest.

It'll be fun to watch, no matter which curveball comes next.

Truth social. You can see the "retruth" at the bottom rather than the "retweet". I think that should also leave quite clear where the issue is though.

Truth Social is such a copy-paste of Twitter, that fixing Twitter makes it irrelevant.

All this is good for Truth as its massive publicity - its should be on its own sustainable due to the massive numbers and activity - having maybe 5million active users is no joke. This is an information war. There's a lot that's happening now that we will not be able to understand. It's the fog of war. It's natural and good to try to figure out as much as we can but we can't expect to understand it all. People that need to understand everything as it's happening will not make it because they will be led down rabbit holes.

Just stick with the broad lines of who you have generally understood to be the good guys. If people are doing good work, and making major impacts on the narrative, it is safe to assume that they are good: Trump, Bannon, Elon.

I certainly can't guarantee anything but neither can anyone else. I think we have to back up a bit and unfocus. If we let ourselves be dragged around by each and every development, we'll end up lost, angry, and retarded, just like the victims of the left.

I would suggest watching Steve Bannon's WAR Room every day. If you watch it enough, it is my opinion that he and almost all of his guests are often speaking in a bit of code for his clued in audience (both good and evil). You have to read a bit in between the lines but I think you'll pick up on the SIGNAL if you approach it in that way. Keeping us lost in NOISE is the primary weapon that the enemy is using against us.

Take the idea that we are in an information WAR very literally.

-4
based_steakums -4 points ago +2 / -6

I think there is a huge amount going on behind the scenes. Really take the things Bannon says seriously, especially his advice to the audience. "We" are winning/have won. Bannon is not worried. He is very happy and confident. We don't need to do anything, although spreading information and shit posting certainly doesn't hurt. And by all means, always stand up to tyranny if and when it shows up in your actual day-to-day life (as you probably would have anyway). But it's very hard to say now what is real for real for sure. Some of what we hear is significant, some of it is not.

But don't forget the products that Bannon endorses every time his show is on, over and over again: My Pillow, for a great night's SLEEP, and War Path coffee, which is something to help keep you AWAKE.

So many of these figures are ex-military. So many of them are China experts/have extensive contacts with China. Perhaps some of these ex-military people, many of whom have ties to intelligence, have been aware of something unfolding over a long period of time. Almost all of these ex-military people are also quite deeply religious. The people who aren't ex-military are deeply religious. Look at Mike Lindell, who always wears a cross prominently displayed. Keep an eye out for crosses and the people that wear them prominently displayed at significant times. Not just on the show but in the current political wars more generally.

I'm totally serious. Watch the show and look out for messages. I'm not trying to tell you what to think, just encourage you all to check it out from that perspective and make up your own mind. If you think I'm nuts, that's totally fine. But regardless, I'd encourage anyone to check it out for themselves, see what you think.

Illegal purchase? What is Trump talking about??

6
TheAttackTitan 6 points ago +7 / -1

Trump’s post can be both accurate and stupid. He’s salty Elon stole his Truth Social thunder with reviving Twitter, arguably a company on death’s doorstep before he motioned to buy it. I think he’s also salty Elon is only just now realizing the fact that Dems are evil.

This is the problem Republicans have - we eat our own. We put each other up to these stupid purity tests when the Republican Party really encompasses a wide array of right wing beliefs: the neocon old guard, the energetic MAGA populists, and the small gov libertarians who don’t vote LP. While it’s good to give the neocons the boot, the MAGA populist (Trump) and libertarian (Elon) factions have some overlap and need to join forces.

The Democrats have historically voted lock step with one another, and as soon as someone outlives their usefulness (like Tulsi), they get the boot. The Democrats are a political monolithic machine. The Republicans are very very very disorganized. I don’t care it took Elon until now to recognize the left’s insanity or evil, I care that he’s actively fighting back with us.

Trump needs to set aside his fake beef with Elon and stop being a little bitch about Twitter and Truth. Twitter is invaluable, it has the network effects from its user mass, scalable infrastructure already in place, notoriety, and a good fucking brand. Truth Social is new, boomery sounding, and pretty much a home exclusively to right wingers. Reforming Twitter is a much better option, and having Elon as an ally helps tremendously.

6
Owmyballz 6 points ago +10 / -4

Donny was a Democrat from 2001-2009 who switched to the Republican party. Everyone makes mistakes, especially when given new information, which he got by seeing how the Democrats operated. He should be welcoming people to the party a wee bit more friendly. Especially someone who can help freedom of speech to the extent Musk appears to be willing to do.

Rome wasn't built in a day, plus he has plunged into politics brutally attacking the leftists, so I won't fault him for taking some of the sting out.

Elon has been taking his followers on a journey, a story. You could tell his Republican comment was delayed by a few years. He just decided to go public with it and led them along the way. He knew the better route wasn't to just Surprise his followers, but to guide them on the path he was already on. Make no mistake Elon went on this journey years ago.

Trump probably working behind the scenes with Elon to take down Twitter. This public spat is a way to make them out as rivals and not collaborators.

Ummm, Mr. Trump... You donated to the Clintons before. Try not to gatekeep when you have that on your record. And before the cultists get here and call me a shill, I don't really like Elon and think he's most likely the same as every other grifter we've dealt with.
