Decided I need my own domain, and looking for a stable, based registrar that will protect my privacy and not cancel me. Not planning to do anything public-facing other than possibly an innocuous blog.

For some reason, I wasn't aware that they were a domain registrar. They sound perfect! Now to find a domain name I like that isn't already taken. . .

Came here to say this. Epik has stood by this site and others like gab in the face of some really nasty PR and DDOS.

Looks like private whois is done through another company I am not familiar with. Anyone have more info on that? fees?

Anonymize, also owned by Epik.

I've been happy with Namecheap.

Came here to recommend them. The were supportive of gab. Facebook has also tried to sue them over domains they allowed people to have (https://www.pcmag.com/news/facebook-sues-namecheap-over-domains-names-that-deceive)

They're pretty good afaik.

I use Netfirms.com but honestly they have been bought and sold so many times I have no idea if they are based or not. Having said that, I have no reason to suspect that they have sacrificed my privacy in any way. And I haven't seen anything from them that leads me to believe they are "woke". And they have always provided pretty darn good service.
