A spear chucking black man raised by apes and swinging across trees should be problematic to progressives.

They loved when the super-hi-tech Africans were making monkey noises at each other in Black Panther.

And chucking spears out of cars.

It's a bait and switch.

Make Tarzan black, damnit.

HEY, YOU MADE A SPEAR-CHUCKING MAN BLACK? Give us money to shut up about it.

I don't think they can make him black if they follow their own rules. They say if the race is important to the story it shouldn't be changed. The fact that it's a white European child raised by African animals is central to the story. His "whiteness" is critical to the story. By the rules of woke he must be white

They have no rules. Look at Snow White in the remake. They don't even use makeup or CGI to make her "skin white as snow" and "fairest in the land".

Domino was turned from snow-white into black, and they even ritually sacrificed a black woman's life (black lives don't matter - Disney) for it to not even have a white stuntswoman or even as much as have her wear a helmet (which too could be super easily fixed by the CGI, but she just had to be killed).

I'm just telling you what they say. I'm sure they will come up with more shit to defend whatever choice they make.

The hypocrites of the left have no rules for me, only rules for thee.

WhoIsThatMaskedMan 12 points ago +12 / -0

Nah. He'll be some vaguely ethnic mystery meat. Jane will be black, and she'll have that "natural hair" that they all have these days. You know, the kind that requires nonstop curling and perming because that's not what black hair actually looks like.

The bad guy will still be white.

Lurker404 11 points ago +11 / -0

It'll be an "anti-colonialist masterpiece" with a "powerful message" that is "so needed in current year".

Reinvent, like interrogate, has become one of those red flag words.

FuckGenderPolitics 4 points ago +4 / -0

What, you don't want to interrogate the privilege you have of being blamed for all the world's past, present, and future problems?

reidj 6 points ago +6 / -0

Already? They just did one where he fought Belgians in the Congo a few years ago.

SupremeReader [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

King Leopold's Free State men? Very few of them were Europeans historically, much less Belgians.

It was a private enterprise employing estabilished African and Arab slavers and all sorts of inernational mercenaries, in addition to just locals.

Randomly checked how it's portrayed in these history cartoons in YT, https://youtube.com/watch?v=Xifl_sz8i6k seems surprisingly accurate do far (besides the obviously ridicalous Duck Tales gold scene).

That was just a Tarzan movie, this is a specific redo of their own Tarzan movie.

The same way we had numerous live action Jungle Books, but only that one with Christopher Walken counted. Disney demands complete cultural monopoly of what they consider their IPs.

MegoThor 5 points ago +5 / -0

Wait until they find out that their newly black character almost certainly sexually experimented with apes.

SoctaticMethod1 5 points ago +5 / -0

We've long known Hollywood has run out of creative talent, them wokefying old content with new 'adaptations' just shows how desperate they are.

FartFag5000 3 points ago +3 / -0

Can’t wait to see him shackled and caged by a bunch of white Europeans
