Users: I don't wanna get stabbed in the face, have my shit stolen, or anything like that.
Realtor.com: What could they possibly want?
They should just replace it with a "Diversity score" showing how many people there are non-white. It would pretty much accomplish the same thing.
You're a racist, Sir! It's entirely coincidental that we had our first shooting 2 weeks after the first black family moved into our subdivision.
Last year zillow added some sort of "LGBT score" measuring how "friendly" a given state/region is to those people. Let's just say I use that score but not in the way they intended.
It is not race, it is policing. Black neighborhoods with private policing are free of crime. Culture and education are not racial, I could introduce you to plenty of violent and depraved white trash.
Doesn't matter if it's culture, education, or genetics. If a policy results in outcomes that differ in a way that correlates with race -- regardless of the underlying cause -- then by definition the US Government considers it a "racist" policy due to Disparate Impact. This has been true since the 70s.
How the fuck have you been here for two years and still manage to be this dumb?
IQ doesn't change unless you take great pains to do so, and even then it changes very, very slowly. If someone is born with such a fucked up brain that they think "I have met bad white people, therefore black crime does not exist" makes any sense at all, it's unlikely that they'll ever be able to think beyond the level of a farm animal.
Wow… I mean…
Chocolate rations are up has nothing on this statement. “We removed information so you can make more informed choices”
Just like, "We removed the comment section so we can interact better with our readers."
"We have always been at war with Eastasia."
Ignorance is strength
"We removed lower grades so blacks have more success in school": realtor edition
As if I can't look up crime data on my own.
As if I can't look up city demographics on my own.
If anyone wants to know why I am moving to Minot, ND, well, there you go. 95% white, less than 1% black.
Look at the demographics of the local school and the rate of "free lunch" kids there. You slso dont want to live somewhere they can take a bus to easily.
Looks solid per https://www.adt.com/crime
Is there a good website to look up ethnicity/race by zip code? I'm more curious than anything, not planning on moving - I'm already in a nice rural, low-crime area.
I went direct to the source, US Census. I looked up the ND city with the least diversity and 10k pop or more, and Minot was the winner.
city-data.com. It's been my go-to site for determining whether or not I want to set foot in a neighborhood for years. Smaller towns often don't have crime stats listed at all, but smaller towns almost never have much crime anyway, so it's not a big deal.
You mean anyone who builds a competing service will get instabanned and all monetary systems cancelled for "racism" or whatever.
The regime doesn't need to be able to censor you. All they have to do is call up their friends at Visa and Discover to have you blacklisted and you can no longer make any money, which dooms your site to fail. It's a single failure point shared by absolutely every online service ever.
There are no other good systems for sending and receiving money online. Crypto is a cope. No normie is going to go through the trouble of buying a volatile non-currency just so they can support a site. They'd rather go to a pozzed site they can type their card numbers into, quick and easy.
If alt tech is going to happen, alt finance needs to happen first. But that's an extremely tall order. Impossibly tall, most likely.
Not necessarily... we see what happens when someone tries to build a competitor. Server host pulls out, domain host pulls out, banks reject you, loans reject you, search engines shadow ban or down rank you, hell.. even your personal stuff is affected once they figure out your personal info.
Between Trump and Peterson/Rubin, I think we have social media and payment processors coming - now we just need banks/credit cards not owned by elitist assholes.
This is a fantasy from 5 years ago. The modern tech apparatus needed to get going will reject you 100%.
Unfortunate but true. Although in rural (like, really rural) it's the white trailer trash that you have to look out for. I've lived in both areas.
With that said though, there's no contest as to which I would chose if I had to.
Even Black people don't want to live in black neighborhoods.
I can see no problems with this…
I'll just start doing the same thing a couple driving by did at a place I lived 10-15 years ago: roll down the window and ask "is this a mixed neighborhood?"
Step 1: Drive down a road.
Step 2: Note every street name.
Are the streets some cutesy theming combination clearly made by some marketing committee? Do they honor modern-day thieves and/or rapists, or the saints that those groups pray to?
You go down a road, and see "Flutterby Point Blvd", "Tinselgrass Lane", and "Oakheart Circle" as you drive by. Then down another road, you see "Jussie Smollet Memorial Lane", "Floyd Parkway", and "BLM Blvd" down the way.
Without any further data, no demographics like "mixed neighborhood", no tax information, no even looking at the general wealth displayed on or in front of the homes, I think it's pretty easy to guess which one is going to have better long-term property values.
To quote Chris Rock, "Martin Luther King stood for nonviolence. Now what’s Martin Luther King? A street. And I don’t give a fuck where you are in America, if you on Martin Luther King Boulevard, there’s some violence going down."
Was it him who had a joke that was something like "If you're on the crossroad between MLK Boulevard and Malcolm X you in the bad part of town"?
Camden has an MLK and Malcolm X intersection. You have to pass it to go to the E Centre. It looks like a warzone and has looked like that for 50 years.
Even in sleepy Waco, Texas 20 years ago. When I accidentally turned onto MLK Boulevard, I thought I had entered a war zone.
I stayed in a hotel on MLK BLVD in Salt Lake City a few years ago and was amazed at how clean it was. I didn't even realize it was MLK BLVD until I was walking down the street at night and saw a street sign (the street changed names a few blocks up from the hotel).
Salt Lake City is basically cheating.
Don't forget his "If a friend ever calls you and says they're lost on Martin Luther King Boulevard, tell them: RUN!!!"
From NYC, can confirm. Though the MLK St in St Pete Is pretty nice. The exception that proves the rule I suppose.
The one in Lakewood, NJ isn't too bad either.
This sounds racist as hell but it’s 100% the truth.
Every successful empire for all world history was racist as hell. Once they relented, even a tiny bit, the collapse began.
Racism is a necessity. Don't like how the majority of a populace treats you? Damn son, shoulda stayed home and built up your own country. Not my problem
"At Realtor.com we believe crime data is just like crime. It's most fun when it's a surprise!"
Not that logic enters into this as they are clearly subverted. But why does removing crime data for buyers help make housing "fair"? If the issue is that minorities can't buy houses.
The concepts of redlining, reverse redlining, and disparate impact has gotten the real estate industry in hot water. The government knows whites hate living near blacks and always have been. So any information that might indicate neighborhood undesirability to whites related to minorities in neighborhoods sends alarm bells to government regulators & they use existing credit laws to clamp down.
So get rid of guns, defund police and move into a neighborhood where youll get home invaded 2 or 3 times a year by a group of thugs that can murder or rape you and your family. Seems like paradise.
I would like to have that information available when I choose to make a purchase as large as a new home.
“We don’t want whites to buy new homes.” - Realtor.com
"In 2022 as a result of our successful PoC outreach strategy, a higher percentage of customers buying homes through Realtor.com were Black."
I fucking hate people so much.
You have to do it the old fashioned way. Go to the police station or park on the street on Friday night.
HAHAHAA! By removing the crime data to further their fair housing agenda, they are admitting that blacks and Hispanics commit more crime than whites and Asians.
This is pure virtue signaling, though. A house is the largest purchase anyone will ever make. No one is going to be like "Well, realtor.com doesn't have any crime data for this neighborhood, so I guess it's safe." They are going to look up the data from other sites. And they are going to look up the data on the local public schools.
If they really wanted to be thourough, they'd remove the data regarding schools. School test scores are just a proxy for the racial composition of a school.
You assume other sites will have the data. Or that police departments will continue to collect/publish it.
Hell, you assume police will respond to crimes other than those where there's a body to be cleaned up.
Google streetview. You'll know if it is high crime within 2 seconds of the picture loading up.
Its pretty easy, you go to US Census and review the demographics of where you are going to buy a home.
I never used that website for crime data. Police departments have crime maps. Very easy to look up and very helpful. The only safe Los Angeles neighborhoods have private policing. Ladera Heights is nearly all black professionals and no crime because they have a 24/7 private force just like most parts of Brentwood.
It's already illegal for a realtor to say anything negative about a property.
No it’s not.
I dont know about illegal, but definitely against realtor ethics. I.e. if they are caught doing so they may lose their job at the firm they're working for.
The woman I worked with when buying my home was very cautious about not saying anything negative while we were on properties or via text, even when the place was a real "shithole" as she described one property following our walkthrough
Wonder why Yelp pushes black businesses, but Realtor doesn’t push living in black neighborhoods.
