> Look up info about an OSS emulator project

> Lead dev has female first name

> "That's interesting: women don't usually do projects requiring this level of autism"

> Look up other projects the dev has worked on

> See reference to old website with dev's last name but with a male first name

> Become enlightened/vindicated

Almost every "woman in tech" is a filthy troon.

and that's a good thing because it's fucking hilarious. they wanted "more women in tech" - they got it, and they can't say shit about that

I just assume at this point. If they're really good at video games or programming...

I'd put money on them being autistic too

This has literally happened to me. I can't remember which indie programming thing it was, but it was really well built and helped me to degoogle or some other pro-privacy move. Felt like donating some bucks since I used it so often.

Well it turns out the dev is one of those anime-furry-avatar they/them wackos.

I really hate that I have to vet everything now. It's mentally exhausting. How I miss the days when I could just buy a game because it looked interesting, or use software because it was effective.

On the plus side, now you constantly have to be a critical thinker. Makes you sharper than the consoooomer culture surrounding you.

That is the silver lining. I've saved myself hundreds of dollars the past couple years by canceling subscriptions, and not buying titles by certain companies. It forced me to go through by backlog of games I haven't touched yet.

I used to submit bug reports, fixes and extensions I wrote for open source libraries that I use. After many of them started with that Code of Conduct bullshit I decided it wasn't worth the effort anymore.

Why get involved in a community of narcissistic control-freaks who are more concerned with forcing identity politics on others than anything else? These clowns get offended by variable names and turn technical discussion forums into toxic shitholes.

Life's too short to deal with these people.

I happen to be involved with some FOSS projects, have been for about a decade now. It's so fucking bad. Free software is an amazing concept and these fucking spiteful mutants are running it into the ground. Troons and faggots all over the place, dilating about how master is literally Hitler. I was at a call recently where the absolute soylord of a project lead was talking about the project's future and he spent half the time talking about how we need to get more niggers involved because we don't have enough contributors from Africa and "that's a problem". No you fucking retard, shit like SSSD rapidly generating endless logs (a fucking 1 GB per day!) until / is completely full and the whole system shits itself and dies is a problem, not "not enough Zimbabweans".

Many such cases.

Many of them have this weird, fucked idea that women are all retarded bimbo sluts. You can't be a well-spoken, intelligent and professional woman, ever.

Kumatei 5 points ago +5 / -0

They don't want to be that type of woman, it doesn't let them play out their perverse fantasies in public.

Normally this would be a great way to starve them of oxygen but it's too late. guarantee they are paid through a NGO or not for profit grant that has a chain ending in a Soros or Bezos or Rothschild.

I know this feeling too well.

Happened to me with Mastodon. Insane developer, no donations. Stopped using Firefox for the same reason. Hello Brave!

I guess programming + autism tends to make people go fucking insane.

Autism is the core cause here. They're shit with social skills and therefore focus on things that can be empirically solved. It's the perfect setup for both being confused about how you should act AND be good with algorithms.

Year from now it will be proven that All the troons of the 2020s were just kids with severe autism who pedophiles told to cut their dicks off

Oh yeah, done this MANY times.

I've submitted a handful bug fixes to some pretty big projects. I don't go bug hunting, if something affects me and I feel it's worth the squeeze, I worked it out.

These days, encountering this stuff, I just keep it to myself. Why give back to a community that would rather I not exist?
