I keep having to pay more in taxes every year.

Every year they ask for more and we get less for it. Here in the Bay we have so many local taxes it’d make your head spin. Thousands to support schools that suck and roads that are broken and congested and projects that never happen. I’m pretty sure that’s partly why the ‘gig’ economy here is bustling because you can operate on cash in many instances.

I'm expecting an enormous hike in the coming year/s to make up for all the printer money we just received. And an endless amount of news spin over everyone doing their part to get the country refunded. and no, this won't apply to the folks in the higher earning bracket.

Ha you think they’ll report the inflation and high taxes. They’ll write articles about how great it is the tax rate is has been lowered to only 75% of the lower and middle classes income and how it’s great bread prices are finally down from the all time high under trump to a historic low of $40 a slice.

Good. Let 'em.

It's accelerationism at its finest. More people won't pay taxes in protest, and there aren't enough enforcers to make everyone succumb.

People making 400k+/yr be like "No problem, I'll just review the tax code with my CPA and find ways around it."

Business owners making 400k+/yr be like "No problem, I'll just make my products more expensive and pass the costs on to the consumer."

Consumers: "Looks like I'll have to tighten my belt a little more."

CPAs can’t really help you if you make $400k a year on a W-2.

Haha, more like, we are in a state of hyper inflation right now, so the rich are going to be making trillions and the peasants are all going to be over $400k paying 40+% taxes too.

It's fine because you're a millionaire, your living space cost you $9 million for a 2 bedroom apartment.

There aren't loopholes at that level. Making money as a salary is extremely straightforward tax-wise. All the loopholes are for the very weatlhy.

That is, if it cost $200,000 in banking and service costs to use a tax loophole, you'd need a million dollar tax bill to make it worth it, and that would have to be only a fraction of your overall tax bill.

It always disgusted me just how much every dollar gets taxed like 3 times over at minimum.

I mean it just is wrong. You income is probably effectively taxed at least twice just to get to your pocket. Then, to actually use that income bam sales tax. Honestly it is pretty disgusting and I think wrong to tax at more than one point in that circular sale loop. Either tax on all sales, or on all income, or whatever.

Taxation is theft.

IfThatIsWhatYouThink 5 points ago +5 / -0

Taxation isn't theft, it's extortion. Theft is just taking something from someone. You're forced to give taxes under penalty of law, therefore it's extortion.

You say potato, I say po-tay-toes.

Either way, it's a man with a gun taking your money.

We don't call that theft down here, we call that proper robbery.

Look forward to the torrent of articles on his lies and how dangerous this behavior is to our democracy

Seruna_Kanus 17 points ago +17 / -0

Yeah, when does this start exactly? Pretty sure my paystub is gonna show the same withholdings it always does.

7
Guyven 7 points ago +7 / -0

That's because amending your withholdings is your responsibility. It'll stay the same and you'll either be charged next tax time or have a refund. You should incorporate which you expect into your planning and submit a new W4 (in the US) to your employer to correct any situation you don't want to occur.

Taxes have a way of expanding downward. The Middle Class and Poor don't tend to care though as long as they soak the rich.

fuck off Biden I only make $23k a year

Gizortnik 4 points ago +4 / -0

You should see how much you're gonna pay in inflation!

It's all of it.

It's all of your money.

Then wait until you're ordered to turn in your cash.

He lies every time he opens his mouth!

randomuser88385 -35 points ago +5 / -40

It was obviously a gaffe. He meant to say a single penny MORE in taxes. What he lied about was that he was going to balance the spending. Or, increase the deficit spending, of course deficit spending was so high in 2020 that it's a pretty low bar to not increase it.

But yeah, keep talking about the gaffe part...

onetruephilosoraptor [S] 49 points ago +49 / -0

The press already shields Biden from any consequences of his words.

Let's not be the same as those corrupt pieces of shit.

Kingarthas2 36 points ago +36 / -0

I for one am more than happy to play by the rules set out under the trump admin.

Turn every gaffe into a major scandal and even create some wholesale out of thin air.

JiggsawCalrissian 12 points ago +12 / -0

Meh either way it's a lie as far as I see it
