Have not kept up with designer brands for a decade or so but Balenciaga for years was one of the designers for the lifestyles of the rich and famous group of women. JFK hit the roof because Jackie bought several pieces of clothing from them to the point that his father stepped in and paid her bill. Basically a brand that the "follow the wives" group, especially mid century favored.
I'm poor and still own my carhart jacket and jeans that I'll wear out before I find an alternative because they forced the jab and are shitty humans. Waste of clothing isn't making a statement other than you literally have money to burn. Nike is a POS too but I'd rather see their sneakers donated before burned.

I'll give you that. Perhaps it's because I grew up so poor that I can't help but cringe at waste. My grandmother grew up in the depression and raised me, taught me to mend my own socks when they would get holes. I thought Ramen noodles were a normal family meal and the only hot lunches I ever got in school came from lunch tickets I won in poker.
It just seems nonsensical to me same as the asshats dumping out Russian vodka to express their point.

The vagrant campgrounds in my area are litter red with needles and bottles. They would sell those shoes in 10 seconds to get more heroin. They are not homeless.
Instead of sending billions to aid another country's attempts to drag us into a new world war, we should build homeless outreach programs that help them acquire skills, get off their vices and get their lives on track.
It would also root out the ones who are actually homeless (they would slowly disappear) and those who are just panhandling for money either for themselves or at someone else's behest, and you see much more of the latter than you used to.
