It all started in the 1600's and 1700's when the British allowed African slaves to be brought to their North American colonies. Before that occurred, racism and slavery didn't exist. In 1783 when the Revolutionary War ended and the United States became an independent country, Americans became solely responsible for all the persecution of Africans under the British empire.

In 1808 importing slaves became illegal but it would still be legal to own slaves in part of the country until 1865. During this period, roughly 1% of white Americans owned slaves. As a result of this, all white people with ancestors from Europe or North America (but not white people with ancestors from North Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, or Jews) received white privilege. This means that these colonizers and all of their ancestors forever will have immediate access to wealth and power based on how white their skin is.

All white people benefited from slavery, even the hundreds of thousands of white people that died in the Civil War in order to end slavery. All non white people were victims of slavery. Including non white people that were exempt from being drafted into combat military roles, owned slaves themselves, or immigrated to the US many years after slavery was ended.

Nothing can be done to reverse white privilege. The only partial solution is for white college students to go into neighborhoods primarily inhabited by people that aren't white and to break the windows of as many businesses as possible, and to destroy all statues of historical figures that were white.
