I've put some hours into it and I'll gladly say it's one of my all time favorites, in the top 3. There's a bunch of little things that make it special. Magic pockets is just a quality of life thing that takes the tedium out of party inventory management. And how about the cool ways that the environmental elements can be manipulated and interact with each other in combat, i.e. setting oil on fire or electrifying steam clouds or water puddles (blood too 😯). And I love the random luck thing that hits enemies just as much as you. I remember this one magister battle where he slipped and fell in a water puddle three turns in a row. He died never getting an offensive move in. Also, the opened ended nature of the combat and the game in general gives you nearly endless options for strategy. Finally there's the mod community with the Steam edition. What a gold mine that is.

IIRC, it can be played by 2 players side-by-side (although player 2 will have to use a controller), or up to 4 player online.

I agree with everything you just put there. The game also has a great soundtrack.

Haven't actually played it, heard good things though. One of my friends recommended it because I liked Skyrim and Fallout 4 a lot, but I haven't looked into it yet.

It's a very different type of game than Skyrim or Fallout 4, but it's still great.

It was great. Did tactician my first run through. It was a slog (I was aware it would be) and enjoyed the challenge. Eventually I want to do a lone wolf run on it. I think there’s a perk for it too to adjust the game and your power level for you and one companion.

If you like this, other greats to try:

  • Tyranny

  • Pathfinder: Kingmaker

  • Fallout 1 & 2 :)

Dragon Age Inquisition was fun for a bit but I never finished it…it became a drag, all the side shit was collect and fetch quests and damn that was annoying.

How does it compare to pillars of eternity?

Too bad Larian is absolutely destroying BGIII.

Oh yeah? I haven't played BGIII yet but I've watched a few gameplay videos. The gameplay looked a lot like Divinity with a D&D makeover. What are they doing to ruin it?

It's honestly not bad. People can't get over the visual leftovers of Divinity but the game differentiates itself well enough so far in my opinion. What I've seen so far, I have enjoyed.

That alone is probably a reason why a lot of people don't like it.

The game is Early Access and schedule for 2022.

Whether the game is good or bad in its current state, I don't think that's necessary a sign that it will remain the same upon release.

I'm a couple of minutes into that game. What's the problem with it?

It was good, though started to drag a little by the end.

And I never expected Ifan (the dude in front) to turn out to be a raging faggot.
