Ellie could've taunted Abby or heck she could even just do nothing and let Abby suffer in pain on the pillar. Mind you when Ellie spots Abby at this point she still is seeking revenge. So what does she do? She basically says "lmao fuck it let me free you and let you go walk to the shore." What??? I mean imagine someone you hate with all your heart that you've spent at least over a year hating and tracking down to kill, someone who lead you to kill hundreds of others just to get the chance for revenge....you see them on a column where you are free to get revenge in the same way they tortured your father-figure and you let them free? You don't even say a "fuck you" to the person that tortured your father-figure??? Sure Ellie is a nutcase but do you know anyone on Earth that would react this way?
Okay...but then it gets worse. After being set free Abby is walking away with Lev to the shore where there are 2 boats. Ellie walks with them and doesn't do shit. But all of a sudden when they are at the shore Ellie conviently places all her weapons in the 2nd boat, disarms herself completely besides a knife, and then suddenly decides "oh shit wait I want revenge again! Except instead of using any of these weapons I have I am gonna risk dying to you in a fist fight!" Then she changes her mind to not want revenge again after Abby bites her fingers off. You can't have this go back in forth 273 times in the span of 2 minutes and have this not ridiculed. Made no sense.
Plus the theme was "revenge bad" but nearly nothing happens to Abby who got revenge...
Also I get that Ellie was injured earlier and loosing blood. But you're telling us that noodle of muscle atrophy from starvation that became of Abby was able to hold her own? Nah dog, should have been quick and clean.
