We had several raspberry bushes where I grew up. Those either look like unripe black raspberries or maybe wineberries

They are unripe black raspberries, I picked all the ripe ones before taking the picture.

A friend and I were out in a cemetery yesterday just exploring and picked shitloads of them!

I hope they were delicious.

Shit, those ones are actually edible? I found some of those wild raspberries while taking a walk, I'm definitely eating some.

Just don’t eat unripe black ones thinking they are ripe reds. Unripe blacks are hard to pick (pull off). Be careful not to get yourself stabbed, the thorns are particularly nasty I think.

Lol where do you think raspberries came from.

Maybe a decade back I was living in an appt with my then girlfriend and found a black raspberry Bush in the corner of the parking lot. We decided to pick some and ended up with something ridiculous like 10 pounds of black raspberries. We got the pressure cooker out and did a little canning, raspberries have pectin and acid so they're easy to can without a pressure canner even. We now use a pressure canner but I would recommend this technique to a friend. For me, the black raspberry jam is superior because of the many seeds which impart both a nutty flavour and a sublime texture

In my area, there are a lot of black raspberries. They're not blackberries, but raspberries that are black. There are also mulberries. Because they grow in this time of the year, late June to early-mid July is my favourite time of the year.

Also, I'm planning on making jam or something with them.

I’m going to try to make grape jam out of the concord grapes growing here.

Tomato plants are such pussies.

Everything else grows and doesn’t care, but you look at a tomato wrong and it wilts.

This post inspired me to buy some strawberry plants to add to my collection. Got 10 for 60% off.

Thanks, BigBeef!

Research question: can berry bushes be grown upside down? Better cultivation than right side up?

I have no damn clue. Sorry.

I've had raspberries and blackberry bushes at my house for years.

They're delicious and we freeze large gallon containers of them. Frozen and slightly thawed raspberries are an amazing snack.

Raspberry bramble coming in good. I have one and a nice blackberry bramble this year. Should be able to make a dozen 8 oz jars of jam this year. yep.

I always have fond memories of picking blackberries with Grandma and then making some blackberry cobbler, great times!

Berries are the only fruit that Kings should eat.
