It's hard for anyone to read compared to plain English. There are many easy to read translations that haven't been pozzed like NIV.
Care to suggest a few? I've mostly stuck with NIV because that's what I grew up with.
I like NKJV when I'm reading through. If there's something I want to look into then I break out the Interlinear Bible. You said you already tried NKJV. Might try ESV.
