KJV 1611 is my personal favourite for the olde English prose and English translation taken from the oldest source material. It's probably closest youll get for English in that regard.
You must mean the authorized. The 1611 is almost unreadable because of the odd way things are spelled. The authorized is basically the same but instead they don't use "v" for "u" and they spell words how we would today
I have the one with the v for u. It's not that hard to read. But he didnt ask readability or anything. Just literal translations and KJV is as close as you can get to the Greek texts in English.
Yes it is. The scriptures have multiple layers of meaning and these are taken out by the modern versions. Just think about the "scholars" we have today and how big of a joke they are. That is who is making new translations.
KJV is straight garbage. It's literally missing chunks of scripture and its centuries old. I'm not saying don't read it though. NASB is the most accurate if that's what you are going for.
NASB, ESV, NIV for reading a lot. I'm reading a NIV Bible given to me as a kid rn, halfway through 2 Chronicles and the dialect is easy. Many dislike the NIV as it's a bit watered down at points, if you're trying to make sense of something, compare >2 translations.
For beauty, read KJV. If you really can't read that writing style, read NKJV.
I like NKJV when I'm reading through. If there's something I want to look into then I break out the Interlinear Bible. You said you already tried NKJV. Might try ESV.

What's missing?
NAB gang represent! (even though I do wish it kept some of that ye olde english and stuff in there at times).
KJV isn't literal which is a good thing bc Literal = unreadable.

I like the ESV but both are good.

KJV and Geneva are the best
No. Its missing 7 books.
Which ones?
I'm too weak so I enjoy the NIV.
At least try NKJV
I have. The thing is I'm dyslexic and the way the KJV is written it makes it difficult for me to read.
It's hard for anyone to read compared to plain English. There are many easy to read translations that haven't been pozzed like NIV.
Care to suggest a few? I've mostly stuck with NIV because that's what I grew up with.

Alright I will check both of those out. Thank you.
