I have always wanted to travel the world and now am in a place where I have the means to do it. But I am worried about all of the new restrictions. I am especially curious how things have been recently.

Can't speak for outside US, but in FL I went to a blue area recently and half the people aren't even wearing masks anymore. Red areas are practically back to normal. There's also a new law that any company that asks for proof of vaccination can be fined $5000 per instance. So, if you've never been to Florida, come on over.

I haven't yet, but this will be on a country by country basis. You need to look at the state ministry website for each country to see what their requirements are. (and those are constantly changing) I'm sure there are aggregate sites that collect that info too so you can just search "(country) travel rules vaccine" etc. It also depends what country or state you're flying from.

When I looked it up, places either required a negative test, quarantine, or the jab. I'm waiting until I don't need any of that, otherwise travel is dead to me.

Yes but pre-jab plandemic. It was incredible though. Empty airports, plenty of room on the plane, limited capacity resort. Just had to get a negative test from a lab that partnered with the airline 72 hours or less before flight. I dunno about vax requirements though, sorry.
