I live in Canada, not the USA or my solution would be easier.

Here is Canada the Wokeness is dialed up 10x what it is in the USA.

I work for a big bank and all the entire finance industry is the same right now. I am bombarded daily with Woke Bullshit and the Career Progression in the industry is entirely dominated by POCs + Women. White men have to work 10x as hard as POCs and Women to get anywhere in this industry.

The front pages of my work literally has tons of shit about LGBTQ+, Trans, Anti-Racism, Diversity and Inclusion. There's literally a whole page dedicated to ending Black Oppression Worldwide with a Giant Picture of George Floyd that has been stylized to give it an LGBTQ+ Colours flair. It's all women and POCs everywhere.

My bosses are women. My bosses bosses are women. My bosses bosses bosses are women. The last 11 promotions or new hires in my office have been Women or POCs.

I am just getting absolutely fedup. I am 1000x more qualified and competent than anyone getting anywhere in this industry but I am getting no where and it's entirely because of these modern politics.

I do not feel motivated to work at all anymore in this industry or work environment and need out. What should I do?

I'm been here for the last near decade and it's pretty much all I know. It wasn't this bad 7 years ago but it's just dialed into overdrive now and it's impacting my performance at work. Every time I work toward something and see someone undeserving get it simply because they were a woman or POC it kills my motivation. At first, I thought I could just work harder and deal with it but it has gotten to a point where it literally is depressing me and I see all the shit constantly promoted in my work all the time that it's just too offensive for me to handle.

My boss even puts their pronouns in their email signature and encourages everyone to do the same to support solidarity with the non-binary community. We have a monthly meeting on how Diversity and Inclusion impacts us.

I can't do it anymore.

The problem is that the entire finance industry in Canada seems to be going this direction and besides some small boutiques that are impossible to get jobs with, everyone is pretty much fucked. I honestly want to just go back and do a trade or something but I'm no good with my hands and never have been. It'd be literally starting all over again and I'm not sure what I should be doing.

Any suggestions?

I've tried applying to jobs out of the country but I've got no where with that. All the kinds of companies I'd want to work for probably don't hire immigrants much.

Edit - Just after I made this post, my bank sent out a bank wide email discussing the horrors of the impacts of our history's Euro-Canadian and Christian Indoctrination of people and how it has led to more deaths than the number of POWs killed by Nazi Germany. Yes my bank literally sent an email like this out. I can't fucking take it.

Get the hell out of there. Go into a different industry. You don't need to define yourself by one line of work. Personally I don't think any job is worth being bombarded by disgusting political messages day in and day out.

I honestly want to just go back and do a trade or something but I'm no good with my hands and never have been. It'd be literally starting all over again and I'm not sure what I should be doing.

That's everyone starting out in anything. I honestly believed I could never be a good programmer, that it was too difficult and not really my thing. The truth is I was incompetent because I was new and there was a large learning curve. I don't even know why I kept at it. I just found the inner workings of the software I use every day to be really interesting. Learning was painful and it did not come naturally to me at all. Now? I've mastered it but it's still difficult. It's actually enjoyable though, because I've succeeded before and see the light at the end of the tunnel. I know I can eventually figure it out because I've been down this road many times before.

I think the only time you aren't challenged is if you aren't doing anything new. Being at the bottom sucks, but there is no alternative if you want to be at the top one day.

My bosses are women. My bosses bosses are women. My bosses bosses bosses are women. The last 11 promotions or new hires in my office have been Women or POCs.

Total nightmare.

What the? Dude run. I am a Christian myself and I would not want to work where people are lying about my religion and saying we're all murderers.

It sounds like the OPs company is hiring not based on merit, but identity. That’s a ticking time bomb of incompetence. If he really wanted to watch the place burn down, it shouldn’t take much kindling to get a dumpster fire in HR there.

Birdbath 8 points ago +8 / -0

Make a list of your transferable skills. All of them from customer relations facilitator to book keeping.

Next ask yourself what you would really like to do if you had the opportunity.

Then see how many of those skills are transferable.

Then build skills you are missing for your dream job while tailoring your CV.

Don't be afraid to up sticks to a different provence.

Incorporate positive words and phrases like I love new challenges, into your daily vocabulary.

Make the jump, even if it involves some financial pain.

Go for it.

I lived and worked in Canada for years, and i sympathise with you. I was lucky enough to be able to avoid a lot of this nonsense by not being in a corporate environment, but still had to deal with it laterally. I really do feel for you. It's particularly bad in the urban centres.

My honest advice is to first get some perspective to calm your mind and think clearly, even if you are up to your neck in it. The Ontario electoral map is a doughnut, QC is about as racist a province as you can get, and AB is cowboy land. You're getting a horribly slanted view from being in the middle of it.

Have a think about the Caribbean. All the legit banks down there are Canadian, and the whole thing is a finance hub, and definitely more fun. It's about as anti-woke as you can get. Can you transfer and snowbird it? One area they are REALLY lacking in is credit card payment processing for e-commerce. The only real provider is in Bermuda.

Have a look at SEZs too: https://www.caymanenterprisecity.com/cec-management

Find a dirty job. Something where you use your hands not just your fingers. Preferably something that involves grease or oil and has a recurring task of “cleaning the pit.”

Weak ass wokesters won’t come near the place

IdahoMan87 5 points ago +5 / -0

I’ve said this many times before. BLUE COLLAR. If you want to get away from soft handed liberal pussies, you need to get out of the office environment.

These fucking corporations can operate just fine without the feminists and AA hires, but they’ll collapse without the white men who actually keep them running. If white men would simply say “fuck it” and walk away, the wokeness would come to a screeching halt overnight.

Genericwhitemale 1 point ago +1 / -0

Who wants to work blue collar when you can sit at a computer all day and make the same money though? I'll admit, I'm pretty sick of the office environment and all the libs that come with it, but it'd take a lot for me to go do hard labor. Any blue collar jobs you'd recommend?

narval50 5 points ago +5 / -0

UAE and Singapore have large financial sectors. UAE has Sharia to keep the gay away and Singapore is paternal autocratic. Those would be your two best bets imo.

subbookkeeper 5 points ago +5 / -0

Alternatively you could also visit an employment lawyer and start building up ammunition to sue them for hostile work environments etc. Shouldn't be too hard to get someone to abuse you in writing if your a White Male.

PermaHandshake [S] 10 points ago +10 / -0

This is Canada. If I sued the bank I work for over being treated unfairly as a white man, the Prime Minister himself would sign a law nullifying my suit.

ParadigmShift2070 3 points ago +3 / -0

While black faced and cross dressed to represent the black wahmen you oppressed

gunteh 2 points ago +2 / -0

Use c-16 to your advantage. I hear Canada doesn’t even care if you’re serious about gender switching, just use it to slam the books back in their faces.

Kmc2 1 point ago +1 / -0

I just got this image of a straight white Christian male with a mop on his head and wearing a dress saying " I'm a gal..".. hilarious.

If o p did that, he would be launched straight to CEO of the company

rockytrumpoa 3 points ago +3 / -0

You applied for jobs abroad? So not much dependents like a family? This means you have free time besides work. Go do dyi stuff and get to know people, filter out likeminded people. Fablabs usually small woodworking shops.

dogemaster 3 points ago +3 / -0

What you are describing is a woke version of Office Space and it won’t get better so you need to make a change, right now. Sounds like you don’t have any kids/dependants and that’s a massive benefit in this situation. Start calling around to residential cribbing companies (they pour concrete basements) and ask if they are hiring inexperienced people willing to work; they will be. Also ask if they have a carpentry apprentice program, you want this. Start working there and learn how to actually work, as everything you’ve learned in the bank job will be completely useless. Show up early, don’t complain and don’t be lazy. Once you learn the ropes and start to figure out how to do basic carpentry work, apply for school in the winter. Do that for four years and viola, you’ve become a journeyman carpenter that can work for someone or be your own boss.

If after reading this you think it’s a little too drastic of a change and a little more effort than you’d want to put in, you deserve the hell you are allowing yourself to live in. Nut up brother and make a decision to create a satisfying life.

Banking is dead; Read the Bitcoin Whitepaper and find a job within the cryptosphere. You will love it.

Know that it is always darkest before dawn. There is a significant number of people waking up to how this is absolute Marxist poison. It will not be long before these people are put into their own place.

Be a consultant. All those diversity hires need someone to tel them how to do their jobs.

Pick up and move the fuck out of there, and deal with the job hunt after you get where you are going.

HellsFishe 1 point ago +1 / -0

If you have the stomach to do it, start using "they/them" pronouns but dont change anything about yourself. Hell you could even present as a butch trans-woman. Then work the system for fun. Worked for Yaniv.

PermaHandshake [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yeah, it's not my style. I almost put King/Emperor as my pronouns. I'd rather resist and fight the system than "embrace it to destroy it from within". The latter IMO just helps to promote the system and never truly has a "destroy it" moment.

HellsFishe 2 points ago +2 / -0

Totally understand, I've seen the system get shaken but it's largely in USA.

BloodElfSupporter 1 point ago +1 / -0

Can you come to the US? I honestly think you’ll have a better time here, and we love our Canadian brothers!

Remember, we live only once. Might as well make the best out of it instead of being miserable everyday.

NeoDragoon 1 point ago +1 / -0

Remember, not all trades actually involve your hands, and I say this as a Teamster that would have preferred joining the IUOE since I've been operating heavy machinery since I was a kid.

Before that, I have an extreme aptitude for arithmetic, and couldn't stand the wokeness of universities even a couple decades ago. Later did things from general labor, to quality control, to management using algebra every single day.

Now before you start freaking out about possibly moving back in with your parents or becoming just a grunt, apply for those jobs out of the country. Even if they "probably don't hire immigrants much", that's still a non-zero probability, and you'll never know if you can get it if you don't apply.

baghdad_bob 1 point ago +1 / -0

How old? You seem young.

Recommend the following:

  • keep job and do bare minimum
  • always be in lookout for better job with more flexibility
  • focus on building your own company/income source external to job (this is where your focus needs to be)

Banking is being disrupted. Career way of society is being disrupted. Need multiple streams of income you control.

Ignore company wokeness. Focus elsewhere.

coverband 1 point ago +1 / -0

I understand your stress. In my previous role I was stuck in a crappy company with bad managers where most of the employees took a sick day after Trump won in 2016. I walked after years, but should have done it sooner.

My current secret to surviving in a woke company: Be essential and work remote. Be in a role that pays, but no one else wants do.

I work in a field that requires technical skills, experience and a clearance. I currently don't have to go into an office with all the gossip and politics. (The one blessing of Fauci-flu...) And very few people want the role or the department, the career climbers avoid it.

So the only time I see wokeness is in all the emails and the few hours a year of ridiculous silly training which is all remote. And I take advantage of the almost free technical training to stay ready for a chance to jump in the future.

TrueRealist 1 point ago +1 / -0

I was going to suggest that you go out and try to start your own business, but you are of the wrong tribe to try and do that in banking lol. I honestly don't know what to tell you besides consider a career change, I absolutely know how cucked things are in Canada right now. Maybe try to work for a smaller bank out in rural 'Berta or something, they would value your experience if you had a while in.

Agitate otherwise, I openly talk about diversity hires and White replacement where I am. I have no problem defending my beliefs because they are rooted in facts, people can't respond with anything besides muh emotions. It isn't directly related to what you are posting, but things will only stop when enough of society gets pissed enough and grows balls to actually do something about this garbage.

gunteh 1 point ago +1 / -0

It’s like everyone has Stockholm syndrome when it comes to the Woke Crowd

PermaHandshake [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don't think I'm Aryan. I'm the middle "maintainers" white people. If I could start a business, I would.

Right now, it's seeming like my best option is moving back in with my parents and taking mechanical engineering.

TrueRealist 1 point ago +1 / -0

I feel your pain, I understand that it is hard not necessarily having a specialized field to be proficient in. Maybe consider programming, if it interests you at least. It is a field that is good for entrepreneurship, and doesn't take long to get up to speed in. Granted, a lot of start-up ideas are horrible though.

I really push entrepreneurship because it is a good way to start taking financial control away from these giant mega corps and the power that they unworthily wield over society. No one is going to cancel me when I decide who is hired/fired and am the only one in town capable of providing the services that I do. Isn't always that way, but you get the point.

Pray about it, it always helps.

ParadigmShift2070 1 point ago +1 / -0

Will any of your current skills enable you to work as a consultant in the current industry? If the company is plagued by woke politics, eventually one of the bipoc will fuck up and need outside consultants to fix it.

Boldwithoutthebull 1 point ago +1 / -0

Are you a teller? What skills do you have?

PermaHandshake [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

Commercial Credit Risk Manager. I just do adjudications and annual reviews all day. I never made it into a decent capital markets role. Not because of competence though because I can run circles around most Investments Bankers. It seems politics dominates Canadian banks. Made final round for an Equity Research job a couple years ago and knew two of the associates on the team but they told me HR wanted them to hire a woman because their team has never hired a woman before. The woman they hired failed the equity research report test they have all applicants do but they hired her anyway. These days even getting interviews is hard. A friend of mine does the hiring at another bank for ER and he said 8 of the 10 candidates for their latest internship position were black, with 1 being asian and only 1 was a white male. I live in a city with 70% white people and in finance the white men are always the best qualified. They hired a black guy. That's just the way things are going right now.

ER is probably my best bet given my age to do anything worthwhile in the industry but I can do Corporate Banking or the Risk Management for Corporate Credit easy enough.

I have a CFA and FRM designation.

Boldwithoutthebull 2 points ago +2 / -0

Could you get some like minded investors together and open your own small bank/credit union? There's a bunch of Patriots that want to give their money to businesses that support individual rights.

Try contacting people like Andrew Torba (gab) or maybe some people within rebel media to look for support . I heard that gab was creating their own payment processor.

Try to pool together funds from anti lockdown Canadian businesses to start a private bank for freedom loving clients.

PermaHandshake [S] 5 points ago +5 / -0

This would be great. I dunno how to contact Torba. I probably could get 3 or more bankers who'd be willing to join a Christian National Bank.

Boldwithoutthebull 1 point ago +1 / -0

You might be able to get his attention on gab but I'd recommend creating a business plan and sourcing some potential investors first. Another interesting person to try to contact would be Peter Thiel, he was one of the investors in PayPal.

I have no idea how you might go about contacting high profile people like this but I'd say creating a presence for yourself on social media and trying to move in their friend circles on those platforms would probably be your best bet rather than just being a random DM.

You should probably start with creating a network of local canadian conservative businessmen.

gunteh 1 point ago +1 / -0

Hot take, maybe try to apply to a smaller bank. If there are credit unions in Canada, they might be less cucked. There’s a strong possibility, based on your position and title, that you might have to take a little bit of a pay cut, but if you had to choose between your sanity and a little farther away from the major cities with a slightly smaller paycheck, it might work for you to try it out.

My wife worked the Finance circuit in NYC, it’s a really tight knit group, but getting connected with the right social groups might open some doors as well.

zeppelincheetah 1 point ago +1 / -0

Do something with your hands. See if you can hire on as a surveyor (they are always needing more work). Women and poc typically avoid that sort of work.

Post-it-votes-2 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don't know a thing about banking/finance, but if you want to move to the US, Zions Bank is the most conservative bank I know of. They openly promote Dave Ramsey material and operate primarily in the inter-mountain West (Utah, Idaho, Arizona, and maybe other states.)

Or, as other commenters have suggested, band together with others and start your own credit union!

Alduin 1 point ago +1 / -0

If I were going to hire a business for something, and one business told me all about the diversity of their staff, and the other business told me about the results they can bring me, I'm going to hire the latter...

Is it possible to start your own small business? Incompetence can be opportunity for competition.

gunteh 1 point ago +1 / -0

It sounds like there are multiple issues here, one is satisfaction with your career, one is being an immigrant on a work visa, and another is dealing with a toxic work environment.

The toxic work environment is an easier fix, find another company who will treat you better.

Working on a work visa is hard, you might have to go home and reassess your skills/passions before coming back again.

The career dissatisfaction is a deeper issue. One thing someone told me, and still resonates with me today, is this:

live your life in such a way that even if you hate the work you do, do a good enough job that everyone will hate to see you go. In the end, you want to do something you can do well, and then add more responsibility, as responsibility adds meaning and purpose. The people who feel satisfied with life started with what they’re good at, and then moved into management/sole proprietorship from there.

PermaHandshake [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

There are multiple issues at play, you are correct.

I have a very hard time working for a system that I do not believe rewards me for my results. In fact, the more I work, the less I seem to be rewarded. I get more from my work by doing less work. This isn't career specific but it is community specific. The things I want out of life are things that money cannot buy and I don't feel work is able to get anything. When I see my work literally promoting the very ideas that make it harder for me to get what I want out of life, it is increasingly harder for me to function at the work because it feels like I am working against myself.

Imagine if you were a Muslim who was deeply religious and your job was going around promoting the destruction of Islam. How would you feel? That is how I feel about the company I work for and not just the company but the community and society I live in as a whole. The company is just a product of the society at large.

That is why I want to move out of this country badly. At least though that if perhaps a less woke company existed I could function more due to my own ignorance of what is going on in the society at large.

As for the career specifically though. Again, I have found the more effort I put in, the less I am rewarded and the less effort I put in, the more I am rewarded. Every single time I see someone less competent, less capable, someone whose moral values and beliefs are incompatible with my own getting promoted and propelled in this industry, it is a crushing feeling and the more it happens the more debilitating it feels. Many people may say "suck it up" but I have for years and the pressure is becoming to much. it is not a healthy way to go about life.

That is why ultimately what I truly need to be happy is to move countries and move careers but both are seeming to be way more difficult than it should. I hate the idea of starting over because I've spent 7 years studying for this industry and 7 years working in it. The worst result would be starting over and simply getting the same result. When I first started my university career, this industry wasn't like this at all. What's to stop the next industry I jump to from not embracing the exact same degeneracy as soon as I'm competent in that industry?

I think the guy who suggested I get to UAE or Singapore is bang on accurate but fuck, it's not like I haven't tried. I just applied to another job in Singapore I am more than qualified for today. I had a last round interview last year for a job in Warsaw, Poland also. I just need to catch a break but I'm running out of patience in a literal it is hurting my mental health sort of way to be here much longer.

YourOwnGreatGrandma 1 point ago +2 / -1

3 options:

(1) keep your head down, look for a new job. Even if it’s still woke, it probably isn’t as bad as your current place. Keep looking for new jobs until you find a conservative employer. You’re acting like this is impossible but it isn’t. It just takes time to and work which is probably what you’re really afraid of.

(2) be bold and challenge your work’s woke bullshit. Get others to rally behind you. If people don’t ever do this then this will never stop.

(3) become a cuck.

rubberbiscuit 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm so glad I don't have to put up with that bureaucratic bull shit. I used to work with some medical education people from Canada and they were such nerdy, uppity, elitist pieces of shit (all done in a very friendly manner, mind you).

For some reason Canada is just completely full of this elitist, cuck mentality. It is certainly pop culture up there but the US is right behind. I don't know how things are going to turn out, and wonder if the eventual response will be an extreme fascist authoritarian bloodbath?

Anyway, the point of all of this is you may just have to look to leave Canada. Try to frame this in a positive light. I mean imagine in a way how lucky you are to get an adventure you may never have thought you would have, up and moving to another country.

As far as careers, I don't know exactly what you do in banking and if that is easily transferable to other countries, but a good hard working talent can be used in any industry, and you can learn what you need to when the time comes. I wouldn't worry about that. Attitude is what most companies are looking for.

The bad news is I think you'll have to stick it out for a while. The good news is that you can get out and save your sanity.

Live like a monk for your next few paychecks (probably 3 at least) and save literally every penny you can. No meals out, no new clothes you don't need, cut down (or cut out) drinking and smoking, turn down your AC, walk if you can to save gas. This will give you a bit of a financial cushion, so you'll be less stressed when you do actually quit. A major bonus of not going out and spending money, is that you'll have lots of free time for a while. Use it wisely. Get Duolingo or a similar app and learn a new language (always valuable to employers). Go to the gym and get fitter (perfect for a manual job). Learn a more unusual skill that could give you an edge in a niche market (I know a guy who makes custom clapper boards for movie shoots). Most of all, use the time to hone your resume and apply for new jobs.

Make a list of all your skills and qualifications, and a second list of what you enjoy. See where those two line up, and what other types of work they would allow you to do and enjoy doing. You don't have to stay in one line of work your entire life, particularly if you increasingly hate the culture surrounding it. If you want to avoid a woke corporate agenda completely, consider blue collar jobs like factory assembly or construction. Trades like plumbing are always in demand, but it sounds like you'd need to retrain for it or find someone looking for an apprentice. If you already have an existing skill and you really don't want to deal with any employer bullshit, you could also start your own business (I know someone who turned their leatherwork hobby into a business making belts, purses, phone cases etc).

You do have options, so try not to lose heart. Knowing that you're working towards leaving the job will make it easier to stick it out in the meantime. So, good luck and do let us know how you get on.

(As an afterthought, if you want to make your job a little easier in the interim, why not beat them at their own game and start identifying as something that will see you get preferential treatment? When you get nearer to quitting, make it something ridiculous and threaten to sue if they don't pander to it!)

TheImpossible1 1 point ago +1 / -0

I've worked at some real woke trashpiles in my time, but this is almost too bad to be true.

Still, it's typical women's tactic of infiltration. Now they have power, ramp up the propaganda to get remaining men out, MeToo whoever withstands that.

I would strongly recommend leaving, before you get to that stage.

I woke up this morning to two new emails.

Email 1: A whole Pride Month Itinerary with 19 different events the Bank is doing for Pride including the times, dates and location of all the events so you can sign up for them.

Email 2: As if Pride Month wasn't enough. They sent out a teaser for getting ready for Indigenous Month.

If you could be anything what would that be? Write it down, make a plan. If you have to tough it out at the current job till the other is feasible. You can do it. You want to start a business, you can. Figure out what you want to do and go for it. Let this be your motivation. You can do it. Till then, tune them out. Marcus Aurelius, they are ignorant of what is good and what is evil, don't take it to heart, keep going.
